RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL — The winter season in Citadel Maravilhosa may not be as cold as experienced in other parts of the world.

But it does cool off enough to be able to tolerate wearing long pants and sleeves, maybe even a light jacket in the evenings. This year’s winter style trends for women’s fashion in Rio includes a tribute to gypsy style called boho chic, a makeover for the ordinary gardener with trendy overalls and shirts with printed animal faces

With references of ethnic styles, hippie and country folk color accents, the boho chic term is used in referencing the boho gypsy origin, and is short for bohemian.“The adherents of this style generally opt for pieces in earth tones, with orange, green and magenta colors in the fabrics and patterns,” explains Carioca style consultant and fashion Campy Filgueiras. “The boho chick style consists of long, flowy skirts, flare pants, gowns, long dresses and blouses in gypsy style patterns and fabric.”

Within the boho chic style there is fringe in handbags, shirts and even jewelry, similar to the summer bikini fringe top trend. “Fringe was seen on the international catwalks of the Italian Gucci handbags and Fendi and now in Rio it is one of the highlights of the season and appears in many collections including handbags, shoes, earrings, necklaces and on clothing.

The most popular on shirts, one can find pants and leggings and even handbags with an adorable puppy face on it.One style tip from Carioca fashionista Patricia Villar is to “opt for just one piece, which can be either a shirt, a light jacket or purse with an animal face on it. The rest of the outfit should be as neutral as possible, preferably white or black.”Once popular in the early nineties for young girls and still today for children, it is now once again hitting the stores in top fashion. The second Forever 21 store in Brazil located in Barra da Tijuca’s luxury Village Mall is offering shiny black leather overalls as well as overalls and skirts in navy blue cotton, black and maroon.

Fashion in Brazil is often synonymous with vibrant colors. The clothes are commonly designed with a wide variety of printed and floral patterns. Likewise, Brazilian beach attire have become a popular fashion trend in many countries around the world.

Modern clothing becomes the preferred attire when you live in most of the Brazilian cities, especially the major ones. T-shirts and jeans are very popular among young men, while dresses and short skirts are the favorites among women. Jeans are the most widely used clothing apparel in Brazil, and come in various styles, designs and textures. Women’s jeans fit snugly and taper loosely at the feet. Beachwear is understandably very popular as Brazil has a large number of amazing beaches.

Brazil is a huge country located in eastern South America. It is world-famous for its several attractive tourist destinations and cultural diversity. The roots of Brazilian culture are found in African and European indigenous traditions and cultures. However, a major influence is that of Portuguese culture. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, German, Japanese, Italian, Arab and Spanish immigrants settled in Brazil and contributed a lot towards the multi-ethnic and multicultural society that we see today. Brazilian culture is enriched with literature, arts, music and sumptuous, flavorful cuisine. Brazil is well-known for its spectacular street parades during the Carnival. The street parades wouldn't be half as attractive if it weren't for the great costumes worn by the people. This article will focus on the different types of attire that the Brazilians wear.

This November festival is the largest Christmas festival celebrated in Brazil. It takes place in Gramado in Rio Grande do Sul. Attractions include a musical dramatization of the Nativity story, otherwise called Nativitaten. You'll also enjoy traditional food and drink, lights everywhere, a parade during the evening hours, tree lighting event, and a beautiful Christmas village.Back in 1986, Eleazar de Carvalho, one of the most popular and talented Brazilian conductors of the symphony, conducted an amazing Christmas concert in Gramado. Since then, thousands of Brazilians come from around the country to enjoy this 60-day festival. One interesting aspect of this Christmas festival is that the decorations used for it are created from recycled soda bottles that school children collect throughout the year!Visitors to Brazil may want to make sure there isn't a major festival going on before making travel plans. Often times during the larger festivals, it is difficult to move about in the streets or to shop the local shops. Always make your reservations well in advance if you are planning to attend one of the more popular festivals in Brazil.

New Year Celebration in Brazil & dress

During the New Year time, the South American nation of Brazil seems to get immersed deep in the tides of celebration. Big parties are organized all over the Brazil. The biggest ones are organized in the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro. Preparation for the New Year parties begins a day before the celebration day. Special efforts go into the crafting of the fireworks, which is lit up exactly at the midnight of the New Year to welcome and celebrate it.

A half an hour firework show sees people celebrating and wishing for everyone’s good luck for the coming year. It is followed by dinner, which has Brazilian cultural dishes like rice, chicken, farofa, salads, and marajucá mousse on the platter. The whole celebration mood remains on a constant high for the entire New Year night with people playing music and dancing altogether. Major cities of Brazil also host musical concerts, dance performances, and special art shows for the day.
