Since 1894 Deans have been installing awnings and the terms "patio awnings" and "patio blinds" are generally interchangeable in common use when describing domestic awnings for the home or terrace and the distinction between the two has become indistinct. The Deans Kenley Cassette AwningIs the top of the range development of a patio awning introduced by Deans in 2013. A German made design Deans have exclusive rights to this system in the UK .The Kenley retractable is a cassette awning system, which means the front, top, and bottom aluminium profiles are integral, presenting an elegant "engineered" look, which completely encloses the mechanical parts of the awning when in the closed position.

Classic Semi-cassetteThe Classic patio awning shares many of it's features with the Kenley except the Classic incorporates a smaller front profile and minor changes to other cosmetic parts thus reducing the cost but maintaining the strength and integrity of its senior partner. The Classic meets all of the European CE markings and is TuV rated meeting Class 2 on the CE wind resistance scale. The Classic can be manually or electrically operated and, with a width up to 6.50 meters, and an arm projection of 3.50 meters most patios will be well within the DB Classic capabilities.
