John Tobin | bio

I have been providing design solutions for over twenty-five years in both traditional and digital print media as well as, more recently, web design.

My design experience serves as a compliment to my ability to understand, from initial discussion with a client, their requirements and how best to achieve results oriented design solutions.

Operating as axis:id, I provide design solutions to businesses in both print and web media.

I am a Past President of the (Society) Institute of Designers in Ireland and have represented Ireland at Congress in Europe. I have also served as a National and International Design Awards judge.

John Tobin | axis:idFor the past three years, axis:id has operated from offices in The Tramyard in Dalkey, County Dublin and is responsible for all design and promotional activity for, what is becoming, one of Dublin’s best party venues.

Streamabout is an online, Irish owned digital video company. Based in Dublin, they shoot daily video for online useage.

axis:id has recently designed their new corporate identity and created their web site. www.streamabout.com

axis-id created the design for each issue of Irish Quilting magazine, a100 pages/bi-monthly publication. The magazine is a key resource and a trusted source of quilting information and promotes the colours and charm of Ireland to quilters in Ireland, America and Australia.

8Initially contracted to redesign Dubarry’s corporate identity, an identity that had been in existance since the 1930’s, I successfully handled all of the company’s design and advertising requirement, producing bi-annual catalogues for their marine and outdoor product ranges together with magazine & press advertising and point of sale requirements.

There is no one correct recipe for fresh pasta. In Italy, different regions have different ways of making it. Some places only use eggs and flour and

others use only water and flour. Some cooks add a little salt and olive oil, some do not. How do Benitos make their pasta? We basically make our pasta the way they do in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy - with just fresh eggs and flour. All freshly made daily.

axis:id is responsible for all of Benitos Italian Restaurant’s design output having recently re-designed their identity, packaging and menus.

12 Global Property Care (GloCorps) combines property and Facilities Management with procurement and financial services. axis:id created their design requirement consisting of numerous logo design for their various brands.
