Why is design good for doing good?
For the same reason it’s good for doing lots of other things…• design is able to take a broad viewpoint
• design provides new methods of engaging customers
• design is a flexible process
• design can make complicated things simple
• design delivers better outcomes
But what can I do as a recent graduate?
Well, there are 2 broad areas
to think about: design doing & design thinking
“Where you innovate, how you innovate and what you innovate are all design problems”
- Tim Brown, IDEO
Using a design process to create
products, services and experiences
that are designed around the user
Design doing is:
Helping other people think like
a designer
Design thinking is:
In 2010 designing for good tends to be more focused on the design thinking side of life.
