‘Bayastudios’ is a young Architectural firm, lead by the young and dynamic team of professionals.Practise works on projects that vary in scale from large public buildingsto houses for individual clients. Design activity with in the practice ischaracterised by the open studio environment where projects are explored to research, physical and digital model-making, discussion and traditional drawing techniques. Models and visualizations are used as a primary means 0f investigation for the understanding of practice of construction technology and to carefully resolve the details.

Design process for each project is distinct, the practice aims toimbue each work with a means to endure, to grow old and achieve Longevity through a sense of dignity, robustness and cultural relevance.

Our architectural work is characterised by an exceptional sensitivity to site conditions, local contexts and climatic conditions. We also encourage to adopt local construction technology and materials in our process of design. SERAI RESORTS, BANDIPUR.

Its a high end jungle resort consisting of 20 units, Restaurant area, Bar lounge, Conference room, Reception Lobby and Spa in Bandipur,Karnataka.

The main aim was to create a built environment where guests could have an authentic experience of living in jungle. The design thus incorporated the spirit of the Tropical traditional dwellings of nearby villages.

Our approach for this project was influenced by Tropical Architecture.Our Design intent was to keep the circulation space more open ,transparent and free flowing connecting the green space outside visually.Also allowing these free flowing spaces To interconnect the Functional spaces.

Taj Groups of Hotels came up With a proposal of Jungle Safari style luxurious resorts,To which our design approach Was inspired by the rustic traditional dwelling of the local Tribes .Our intent was to create a built Environment where guests could have a authentic experience of living in jungle.It’s a high end jungle resort with Only twelve units , Each unit has Its own court weaved around the existing bamboo plantations.

This Project was handled as part of Mozaic,based in Goa.

Pool and Entrance pavilion

An exclusive boutique resort with just 8 luxurious high end cottages, located between lush green coffee plantations and paddy fields.Our design approach was inspired by the vernacular style of local inhabitants ,which had steep roofs ,deep overhangs and use of natural Material s like stone, wood etc…All units were secretly tucked in the nature orienting towards the valley for a stunning view.

FLAMEBACK RESORT,MUDIGERE

TWL,TAJ RESORTS,PENCHTaj Groups of Hotels wanted a additions and alterations to existing resort.We proposed an exclusive extension to the existing cottages with wood and steel framed light structure which accommodates toilets, showerand vanity area in the ground floor and a semi open pavilion above with built-in bed spacewith a all-round view of the Jungle.

A tiny leisure space with a small bedroom and Kitchenetteconnected with central open court overlooking the garden areawhich is designed on a small Residential plot in the heart of Bangalore city for a client residing at adjacent Plot.In our approach , we intend to keep the design grounded andsimple keeping the rustic spirit of Tropical vernacular style.

NALANDA GURUKUL RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL.

This residential school is designedOver an eight acre plot of mangogroove, Though initial concept was designed by GNa architects, We wereappointed to develop the design andto take it forward for constructionpurpose , proposing few more additions and alterations to the initial Layout.

BIO CENTRE, SHIVAMOGGA.

Dept. of Horticulture, Karnataka state, came up with a proposal to design the research laboratories, tissue culture lab, training institution and administration blocks . Proposed site is located on the bank of the river Tunga.In this design, we aimed at creating a single axis which is connected by three different blocks . All the blocks are placed facing north south on its longest side to receive diffused sunlight through out the year, and cool breeze from the river adjacent.

UNBUILT.

It was a competition projectdesigned to cater for EWS sector in coastal areas. We proposed a design of prefabricated, compact single bedroom unit mounted on a R.C.C. Column base. Openings and built in seating were introduced as an attachment to the core structure to create more internal space. Reused cargo Containers and wood from the ship yard were used as the basic materials for the construction.

This proposed project is on the bank of riverCauvery in a 65’X300’ rectangular plot. The main functionof this ashram was to promote itself as a centre for ghat activities, so requirements followed the necessities of the ghat activitieslike providing accommodation to the Piligrims, Yaga hall,Dining hall, Admin area,Lobby, Residence for Head Pontiff.

Our design approach was to create an experience to the pilgrims by weaving their experience along the activities ,which leads to the Plaza facing the river creatingA surprise factor.All the blocks are oriented towards North SouthDirections,Thus allowing us to provide big openings for natural light on north façade.And services tucked to the southern façadeavoiding harsh sunlight penetrating into the Blocks.Each blocks are connected through semi open lobby acting as buffer area.

Ranjith, graduated from Malnad College of Engineering,Hassan,India in 2005.

Early career was spent in Goa working with Ar.Dean D’Cruz for two years, completing a number of widely published works. Later he moved toBangalore to work with Chandavarkar and Thacker (CnT) for an year ,working on number of prestigious projects. Later in 2009 started a new venture, starting up his own Architectural Practise ‘Bayastudios’ . Also collaborated with Ar.Dean D’Cruz , for his prestigious projects in Southern India.
