8 TYPES OF CHARTS YOU CAN USE TO PRESENT YOUR STORY AS AN INFOGRAPHIC

1. SCATTER PLOTS These are used to show relationships
or patters for unaggregated data.
2. BUBBLE CHARTS These are used to depict the impact of
one data point in comparison to another through size.

3. BAR CHARTS These are used to show similarities and differences between percentages. These
can also be used to display rankings and orders.
4. LINE CHARTS Use these to visualize trends over time.
Two or more line charts can be combined by overlaying data points.
They are used to show patterns.

5. TIMELINE CHARTS A timeline is a great way to depict
change over a given number of years, months, days, weeks, or even hours.
6. PICTOGRAMS Icons and pictograms can really
complement percentages and help to put a number into perspective.

7. PIE CHARTS These are used to depict comparisons
between multiple data points, or to visualize the share of a particular data
point in its overall group.
8. COMPLEX CHARTS Use your own imagination here. These might be the most designer charts you could ever make. Although they might
be interesting, they could make the data hard to interpret if improperly
presented. Use them with caution.
