Why does it seem so challenging to step up your selling
performance? Oh sure, you think you could probably
close a few more sales if you got another 10%
performance from yourself – but it hardly seems like its
worth the effort, right?
This is the typical under-performing mindset,
which lacks a performance focus.
There are only three key levers that drive sales results.
You see more prospects; You sell more prospects;
You increase your commission. So naturally, when a
client tells me they want to sell more, we start
with assessing their focus of attention on each of these
areas – and that’s when the stories start.
They couldn’t possibly see any more prospects. They
already have good selling skills. They couldn’t justify to
their clients (or themselves)
A larger commission. Ha! Stories!
Your sales success comes down to your focus on your
sales performance. Your stories are simply distractions.
So get your performance focus cranked up. Start by
asking yourself “What’s one thing I could do to see more
prospects?” “What’s one thing I could do to improve my
sales skills?” “What’s one thing I could do to make my
clients (and me) feel good about increasing my
commission?”
When you focus on improving your performance, you
are heading down the track to sales success.
It’s the power of your focus that brings the big results.
