2010 2015 2020 2025Population of Moscow millions of people

Today Moscow have serious problems with

traffic, witch have negative impact on society:1

Tanks of oil consume per year

Max. length of jamp traffic a day2000

The transport problem will increase in future,

because population and new cars2

Therefore, there is a strong necessity for

innovative solutions in transport management3

Problem:Public unsatisfaction, continued population growth, the

intensification of transport flows requires effective and

comprehensive solutions for dynamic traffic management

and planning of the city.

Proposed solution:New Intelligent Transportation System to collect and

analyze information from different sources to manage the

traffic situation in real time, to improve the quality of life,

and to reduce the time spent in traffic conjunctions

Results:

Greater driving safety: 50% reduction in the number of

road accidents (through integration with system “Safe city”)

Sustainable economic impact: up to 10% reduction in

costs for maintenance of the road infrastructure (through

automation, reduction of fuel consumption)

Benefit for society: reduction in time needed to move

around the city, increased leisure time and workers

productivity

In-house IT

SAP HANA outperforms most systems in the

market…1

Speed: The engine in RAM from SAP

enables each core of processors to

scan 2 million records per

millisecond and make on-the-fly

more than 10 million operations on

aggregate data per second.

Scalability: Core of SAP HANA developed on

the basis of multi-core architecture,

combined with adaptive algorithms,

allow to use the large size of cache.

So, the productivity grows linearly

with increase of the amount involved

cores processors and servers. She

for a long time will provide the best

ratio "price/performance" as the

number of cores used in servers

continues to increase exponentially.

Compression: SAP HANA uses advanced

compression algorithms, which

allows to minimize the amount of

memory required for normal system

operation.

…as it is able to demonstrate innovations in 3

key areas of ITS functionality:2

In comparison with other products SAP HANA is the

best choice on performance-price base for Moscow ITS

Today there are 3 main applications of intellectual transport system:

automatic traffic management, customer services and data for plannibg

SAP HANA cloud can support different

customer services:2

In-memory system would allow to manage

traffic in real time1Traffic lights will be working

automatically on current

traffic situation. It leads to

«green wave», which reduce

traveling time

Automatic lane signals

reversal in morning and

evening rush hours would

result in higher road capacity

City lights will off when the

are no movements across

streets leads to reduction of

electricity consumption

Public transport schedule

would be constantly adjusted

to the real-time traffic,

resulting in decreased

overload in rush hours

Speed control cameras of

hayways will sent information

to police

Modeling base on panel data and mathematics

would be used for city planning:3New routes of public transport

on big data analyses

Complex modeling of new

roads, railways, stations,

subways, parking

Modeling of new occupational,

industrial or business areas

before building

Smartphone/ ipad apps with

actual schedule for every tipe of

transport

Navigation services for cars

and people would help everyone

Implementation of SAP HANA – opportunity to

integrate all city transport in one base…1

"Safety Metropolitan"

In the future, the system of intelligent transport system can be

used as a handler/data provider in the framework of the

program "safe city"

RZD

Combining data in the framework of development of railway

transportation will allow more effectively to plan the distribution

of passenger traffic. The cooperation would be beneficial for

society, individually and for individual companies.

Private Investors

Data and mathematical models obtained on the basis of SAP

HANA may be of interest to private investors in several

directions:

1. Accurate forecasts of traffic would help to attract private

investors in infrastructure projects

2. Analytics based SAP HANA would allow the city to get a fair

price for selling the land for different types of buildings

(office, residential, industrial, commercial).

3. Publication of data about the traffic flows would allow to

attract 3rd parties consultants for transport planning (for

example: Bureau of Transportation Statistics)

Further development of SAP HANA has rich

opportunities in Russia…1

Integrate with RZD IT systems

•RZD and MosGorTrans will be able to better predict and manage passengers flows in and out of Moscow

•Dep. Of Transport will be able to introduce unified tariff system for all kinds of transport (common SAP Active Embedded services* platform is needed)

Integrate with Moscow city

services

•Plan the work of city services (road repairment, maintenance) in line with road loading

•Organize the work of city services using the same solutions of SAP HANA

Build IT platform for 3rd

party vendors

•Develop apps.

• analyzing collected Big Data will be developed (taxi services, construction,

• logistics companies

…but certain risks and weaknesses may

undermine the future success…2
