Play it Safe This Holiday SeasonAlthough the Holiday Season is a festive and happy one, it is also a time for particular attention to be paid to prevent yourself from being a victim of crime. Follow these simple tips to avoid being a victim… Do not leave brightly wrapped packages in full view in your car, rather place packages in your trunk, not on the seat while away from your car.Protect your credit cards when used. Do not lay your card down when purchasing items where it can be seen. Some criminals are experts at memorizing account numbers and names in mere seconds.Park in shopping areas that are well lit. Likewise, be careful to use ATM’s that are well lit and in protected areas.

Page 31: New Castle

Play it Safe This Holiday SeasonDon’t put gifts under the tree in full view of a window, to deter burglars who could break in and steal gifts before the big day.

Do not put empty boxes out on the street advertising what you bought as it is common for burgers to attack homes knowing they have new bikes, electronics and other new large new items.

Parents also need to be aware that their kids may be vulnerable to theft at school if they go back to school with new phones and iPods and such. These items in a backpack can ad up to hundreds of dollars.

Play it safe this Christmas and make it a Merry and enjoyable one!
