7-9 March 2016, Austria Trend Savoyen Hotel, Vienna, Austria

The market for wood plastic composites (WPC) is developing rapidly in Europe, helped by a series of product and process developments as well as improved marketing programmes and yet usage is still only a fraction of the size of its potential.

AMI’s Wood Plastics Composites 2016 conference will draw on the most successful experience in Europe and the USA to bring focus on the latest developments in the industry. An array of papers will address the key opportunities and issues facing participants in the WPC industry today: process and materials developments, new product developments such as aesthetics and durability, new applications and best marketing practice. The purpose of the conference is to provide opportunities to learn from the experience of others, help stimulate new ideas and facilitate a vision of what the future could bring.

AMI’s Wood Plastics Composites conference is now well-established as the leading European and international meeting point for the industry. Judging from prior events AMI expects participants from over 30 countries and 6 continents to attend, providing the most international context with which to understand the industry. Wood Plastic Composites 2016 will provide a broad based forum for companies processing, fabricating or selling timber or plastics products that are looking to explore or expand their businesses and to identify new opportunities. Come and talk with the technology leaders, gain a broad understanding of the status of the market and the momentum and focus of development. Participants from all across the supply chain will provide a perfect opportunity for attendees to establish the partnerships and collaborations necessary to turn ideas into reality.

The conference sessions will be simultaneously translated into German and Italian.

Sessioni tradotte simultaneamente in Italiano.

Vorlesungen gleichzeitig ins Deutsche übersetzt.

battenfeld-cincinnati: leading solutionsNFC/WPC (natural/wood fibre composites) have firmly established themselves on the American, European and South-East Asian markets due to their sustainability and manifold characteristics. Even the injection moulding industry has discovered the outstanding material properties for themselves. The benefits of these materials are waste free production, 100% recyclability and up to 80% renewable resources which contribute to more sustainable product cycles.

Functionality, easy handling, process stability and cost efficiency are at the core of battenfeld-cincinnati’s tailor-made solutions for NFC/WPC processing. As a technology leader in this industry from day one, battenfeld-cincinnati has installed more than 260 lines worldwide. The fiberEX extruder series and its wear-optimized metallurgical solutions are designed particularly for NFC/WPC extrusion and complete lines from the feeding systems to the complete downstream equipment are available.

For small technical profiles, single screw extruders or conical twin screw extruders are available, while for higher performance parallel machines with a plasticizing length of 34D are the optimal choice. One of the latest developments is a new degassing system, which is also available as a retrofit for older machines. It enables much longer maintenance intervals and higher filling levels of the screws, which leads to a significant increase of plastification performance. Additionally, space saving co-extrusion solutions enable a reduction of the material costs which make up ~80% of the overall manufacturing costs. This is possible by adapting the pigment and UV-stabilizer contents, the fiber contents and the content ratios of other additives.

With an extensive network of competent partners along the entire supply chain, battenfeld-cincinnati provides a complete package for NFC/WPC projects – from material formulation to the end product.

battenfeld-cincinnati stands for complete NFC/WPC solutions from a single source.

Welcome to Vienna!
