Delivering on the vision
There’s been a lot of theory around the PCC’s role and
responsibility, but it’s time for a practical view on what needs
to be done.

Step 1 - A successful transition
Making sure you are working closely with partners for a
joined up transition of service.
Having a clear plan in place for HMIC inspections.
Much of which you’ll be working on already.

Step 2 – A successful PCC

3. Monitor and review delivery of commissioned services, and hold providers accountable.

10. Act as the conduit for change that integrates crime related services into one ecosystem.
Inclusive

5. Adopt a pragmatic and inclusive approach to commissioning, taking into account the voice of
the community, including victims.
Efficient

West Midlands Police Authority will be using pam to assist with the transition and delivery work
associated with the change in police governance, when police authorities are replaced by
directly elected Police and Crime Commissioners in November 2012.
“pam should enable us to work more effectively with colleagues in the Force, local authorities
and elsewhere as we undertake the work to ensure a smooth transition from the Authority to the
new Police and Crime Commissioner. The introduction of Police and Crime Commissioners
impacts on a number of organisations and it is essential that our work ensures the continued
delivery of policing that meets the needs of those that live and work in the West Midlands.”
A tailored and structured framework covering all the activities and tasks for a successful PCC transition. This environment is also used for actionable, dynamic police and crime plan delivery.
