What 12 @12 is a mentoring lunch that was specifically designed to give

What AM/PM Business Connection offers “speed networking” – the ability to reach

many people in a short amount of time. The program presents an opportunity for business owners to polish their presentation and marketing skills while expanding their contacts.

Seated in rounds of seven, each participant has two minutes to deliver the message of his or her company. After the last person at the table has spoken, everyone will rotate to another table and have a chance to talk to six new people. The goal is for each person to talk with everyone in the room with as few repetitions as possible.

Program elements and target audiences are: Mayor’s Briefing on Public Education - As a new school year opens in August, the Mayor provides an update on the status of our public schools and his vision for improving public education to the business community.   Event to be marketed to an audience of business leaders, upper-level officials for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, MNPS Board of Education members, Metropolitan Government leaders, and members of the media (estimated attendance: 100).

   Celebrating Nashville’s Public Schools – Annual Academic Performance Awards- held each fall to celebrate schools that have achieved good standing under the state accountability requirements and those schools that are making extraordinary gains in student learning. Report Card on Education Event- held annually (January 2010).   This event is a platform for the official release of the annual Report Card on Metro Schools by the Chamber's Education Report Card Committee,

a diverse group of business and community leaders. Event to be marketed to an audience of education stakeholders, upper-level officials for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, MNPS Board of Education members, Metropolitan Government leaders, business leaders and members of the media (estimated attendance: 150).

Education Speaker Series (2 breakfast events) – held two times per year to present innovative ideas and initiative in education reform – proposed topics to include incentive-based teacher pay and alternative ideas in school governance.  Event to be marketed to an audience of business leaders, upper-level officials for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, community educators at all levels, and Metropolitan Government leaders (estimated attendance: 150).
