Visible Benefits: Attending the conference, the recognition, committees and…....mentorship
My aweseme mentor: Adrian Stanley Hidden Benefits: The vast networking opportunites and the
extent of benefits from mentoring Conference attendance was great, but the mentorship is what
makes the program really special!
BEYOND THE SSP FELLOWSHIP
STEM FELLOWSHIP is a Canadian federal non-profit that provides mentorship and experiential learning opportunities in data science and scholarly writing to high school and undergraduate students.
STEM Fellowship Journal: Open-access-peer-review journal providing high school and undergraduate students their first chance to publish their STEM research.
“Official Mentoring” happens in various programs including: the editorial process, Scholarly Writing Challenge, Big Data Challenge
“Unofficial Mentoring” happens among executives and editorial board.
EMERGING TRENDS IN EARLY CAREER MENTORSHIP
National Student Network: Online Platform that provides an opportunities database and mentorship by “National Young Leaders” in various fields to their members. (free membership)
Many Organizations are introducing mentorship opportunities as part of their core programs (i.e. SHAD Valley)
