P&ID P&ID around Condenseraround Condenser
The condenser transfer the latent heat of vaporization from the turbine exhaust steam to the Circulating Water system.
The condenser hotwell acts as a collection point for the condensate formed on the condenser tube bundles, and for other miscellaneous high quality condensate drains.
The hotwell also serves as the suction source for the condensate extraction pumps.

Maintenance ProcedureMaintenance Procedure Cautions and Warnings
1) Do not enter the main condenser water boxes until they have been ventilated and drained.
2) Do not enter the shell side of the main condenser until it has been ventilated.
3) Personnel performing condenser tube flushing and any other personnel in the vicinity should wear protective clothing and face shields to prevent injury due to high velocity water.
