Mahindra 2 Wheelers records 56% growth in January 2011 Mumbai, February 01, 2011: Mahindra Two Wheelers, a part of the US $7.1 billion Mahindra Group, further consolidated its presence in the two wheeler segment in January 2011. The company’s sales for the month of January 2011 stood at 15,623 units, as against 10,008 units in January 2010, an increase of 56%. Total cumulative sales from April 2010 to January 2011 stood at 138,482 units, as compared to 47,985 units for the same period last year, an increase of 189%. This month, Mahindra Two Wheelers crossed the landmark sales figure of 200,000 units. This feat has been achieved in 16 months from the launch of the Power Scooter portfolio in September 2009. Mahindra Two Wheelers has the distinction of achieving this milestone in one of the shortest time spans, as compared to other two wheeler manufacturers. The sales of Mahindra Stallio stood at 5135 units. Earlier in the month, Mahindra & Mahindra announced its intent to compete in the FIM Road Racing World Championships. Mahindra thus becomes the first Indian motorcycle manufacturer to compete in the MotoGP in the 125cc category. Mahindra 2 Wheelers’ Power Scooters cater to a range of consumer segments. The Mahindra Rodeo with its very innovative, contemporary features is popular amongst the Indian youth, while the Mahindra Duro is positioned as a family scooter. The Flyte is the Indian woman’s two-wheeler of choice. The stylish Stallio creates a niche for itself in the motorcycles category. The company’s sales for the month of January 2011 stood at 15,623 units, as against 10,008 units in January 2010, an increase of 56%. Total cumulative sales from April 2010 to January 2011 stood at 138,482 units, as compared to 47,985 units for the same period last year, an increase of 189%.

This month, Mahindra Two Wheelers crossed the landmark sales figure of 200,000 units. This feat has been achieved in 16 months from the launch of the Power Scooter portfolio in September 2009. Mahindra Two Wheelers has the distinction of achieving this milestone in one of the shortest time spans, as compared to other two wheeler manufacturers.
