AUDIENCE FEEDBACK

Page 2: Evaultion 4

WHAT DID I EXPECT

• Although the audience here are in D bracket income its because they are of age 17-18 years old and they are students. These are my audience as they are Hip Hop fans who would like to learn more about the genre other than the money and fame. I feel that they were very materialistic, maybe because that is How Hip Hop is portrayed and that’s how they have accepted it to be. I did expect to fans not to like the front cover as much, as even I knew that it was a weakness, connoting that they are fox thinkers and the front cover might not looked as appealing to them.

AUDIENCE FEEDBACK • I felt that my audience were very active of what they wanted

to see. Although I did say that I believe Hip Hop fans don’t always like to see jewelry I was wrong as clearly in the Audience feedback William Laufs said that he would like to see jewelry and as a striver I can see why as it provides a materialistic goal to achieve. This is because according to Maslow’s Theory he wants esteem needs, to be confident to show that he is wealthy and at the same level as other artists in terms of respect.

• Alex Ducket wanted a more sophisticated read, he did not believe in materialistic items, this is because he feels he wants information, this puts him according to Maslow’s Theory Self Actualization as he looks for creativity in life and realizing personal potential.

WAS THE AUDIENCE CHOICE CORRECT?

• I Thought my magazine was unconventionally interesting but due to the demand from William Laufs to have it more conventional of Hip Hop, makes me think that the audience might not like it. This is probably because the mosaic type of him is a streetwise kids, who are unemployed and due to this unsophistication I think he finds it hard to believe the reality of Hip Hop.

• Although from that I was Happy from the response by Alex Ducket who was a more sophisticated audience (Primary audience), he wanted from Uses and gratification Information and Diversion, which was the uses and gratification I was focusing on.

WAS THE AUDIENCE CHOICE CORRECT?

• I feel that as Strivers, the magazine was well aimed towards that, and I think from the feedback, the audience were pleased that it gave inside about the life of a Rapper. I did not however focus on experiencers and am second guessing whether they should be secondary, as they are quite wealthy audience. I am thinking whether to focus more on Makers, who have low resources and are distrustful of the government, which adds to the history of Hip Hop and believe in sharp gender roles which is stereotypically correct of Hip Hop fans who aim for dominance.

WAS THE AUDIENCE CHOICE CORRECT?

• I felt that in terms of the the primary audience it was correct age of 16-22 years old. I also maybe think that due to the Hip Hop’s growth I think that maybe I could focus on a multi ethnic magazine, that means that the audience would be wider. I agree with the sophistication of Hip Hop and although Alex and William are of D class in income bracket, they are sophisticated and well educated students who understand the content. I think the C2 income bracket and the D-E income bracket should’ve switched for Secondary and Primary, as I felt that more D-E income bracket were responding to the messages in the magazine, as I felt being C2 wasn’t really striving as they had reliable income.

• The age for secondary audience was vast, as it meant that digital natives had access to it and that they were old enough to want to and understand the content. I think the magazine should be more diverse and that should be primary as the movement of Hip Hip is growing and has become mainstream.
