Opening title sequence for Step-Brothers

This quote is the very first thing that appears on the screen, it gives the audience an insight on what the film is about, we learn it is about families.

The background is just black with white text, adding a very simple look.

The font is very child like and funky. This represents the protagonists of the film.-2 middle aged men that act like children.

Yet again, it remains black and white. They have used a very simple look because the genre of this movie is comedy, therefore you cannot reflect on it just like you would be able to with horror or romance films

First actors name we see is Will Ferrell, this gives us an implication who is the most important and also who is the protagonist of the film.

The music playing in the background is very upbeat and fun simultaneous to the childlike text.

Medium sized titles, informing the audience of who the actors are, also they slowly fade in and out at the bottom of the screen.

By now we have met all of the important characters and their relations with each other.

• Information- We meet all of the important characters of this film in the opening scene. We also get an insight on their relations within each other. This is a very good opening scene due to the fact we get all the right information without it being too much that we get so much to remember or it being too little that we are already lost on who is who.

• Font- The genre of this film is comedy, they have added a childlike funky font to fit this perfectly.

• Audience- the audience they are aiming towards with this film would be the 15+ teenagers, due to their language they use is quite strong and also to be able to understand the comedic storyline with the two step-brothers that act like children. They could also be aiming to families with older teenagers.

• Sound/Text- they are playing some upbeat carefree music to fit right in with the protagonist, genre and the text. The text slowly fades at the bottom and comes up slowly.

• Order- The order the names appear are with all the actors, with Will Ferrell being the very first, implying he is the protagonist and also possibly the most known out of the rest of them.
