Generic conventions of my chosen magazine genre (punk/rock) Typical colour scheme consists of black and red. Some magazines such as this one have signature colours such as yellow. Colours are both dark and bright to appeal to the genre of music and to attract the younger members of the audience. Very chaotic layout to appeal to younger audience members and to represent the genres of music. Dominant image usually consists of a band or solo artist; typically with tattoos and wearing dark clothing (black, grey etc.) Usually include posters as the target audience often like to decorate their rooms to show appreciation for the artists/bands that they like. Often competitions to engage the audience with their favourite artists as well as the magazine itself. Model is often good looking in order to make the band appeal to the audience through more than just music. Double page spread is either about the personal lives of the artists or about one of their tours as they want to appeal the audience members that are focused on the music as well as the members that find the artists themselves more interesting.
