How did you use new
media technologies in the
construction and
research, planning and evaluation stages?
Media technologies
The use of software and hardware used
throughout the entire design, planning and
making of the products and ancillary
products. All of the software was used to
enhance and design the products otherwise
it would not be possible.
Hardware
A laptop and computer were the heart of all of the
making of the main task and ancillary tasks. It was used
for everything from the planning, to blogger, to Adobe
Premier Pro and YouTube, to emailing and designing and
more!
This video camera was
used to film the teaser
trailer so without this
video camera it
wouldn’t have been
possible.
This tripod was used to
place the camera on
whilst videoing to keep it
still and prevent any
camera shake. It was
helpful to get the right
angles.
This digital camera was used to
take photos for the
magazine, poster and behind the
scenes. It was appropriate for the
job and it was my personal camera
so I knew how to use it.
This was a prop and hardware
used. A mobile phone was
needed to get in touch with the
actor and actress to organise
the filming and to get in
contact. It was also needed as
a prop in filming because there
are phone calls made and this
was an appropriate product.
This was the cable used to
connect the video camera
to the computer so that we
could transfer the
recordings to the
computer, to load onto
Premier Pro, so that we
could do editing.
Software
I used Adobe Premier Pro as the Teaser Trailer editing
software. This software was excellent throughout and
although complex, once you got the hang of it was
simple to use. I am very pleased with the process and it
has really helped me develop my editing skills and use
of Adobe. It had many transitions and sound affects
that I tried and tested and some that I went on to use.
Overall I am happy with this software and would feel
happy to use it again.
Photoshop CS5
I used Photoshop to create both my Poster and Magazine
cover. I have worked with Photoshop a lot before and
therefore I knew how to use it quite well. I firstly used to
edit the images I took on my digital camera for the
magazine and poster. I then went on to design and create
the magazine cover using all the different
font, colours, techniques, shapes and features to make it
to the bets standard I could. Photoshop worked well for
the needs of this task.
Word was used for any
note taking, typing up and
planning.
Paint
I used paint for a few minor
adjustments to images and fonts and
background to insert into the teaser
trailer. For example I created the red
background with the text "The
Following" on Paint. This was helpful
and simple to use.
The internet was used to
searching many different
things to gather pieces of
information or to get images
and to go on websites.
Dafont was used to
get a font that we
wanted for a shot in
our teaser trailer. It
has a variety of
fonts which was
very helpful.
This was the website we
used to get our
soundtracks from for our
teaser trailer. It was free
music that we were
allowed to use and
download.
YouTube was used so
that we could upload our
Teaser Trailer and
therefore present it on
blogger and to others
who want to watch it.
