INTIAL IDEASShooting in a photography studio meant that all

footage had a white background. However, it didn’t fit in with the overall urban mise-en-scene of the video, as other backgrounds in the video

are busy.

ANDY WARHOLLooking at Andy Warhol and his style of work (https://www.artsy.net/artist/andy-warhol) allowed inspiration to be drawn from his tile

effect. It is particularly effective when the tiles are alternate colours.

INSPIRATIONIdeas from Andy Warhol’s art were taken, except

the pop art style which wasn’t suitable to the urban feel of the video. Whilst experimenting

with the split screen idea, red and blue worked well as alternate colours and embodied the patriotic theme. The union jack colours have also been used on ancillary tasks, to link the

video and ancillary together.

INTERPRETATIONAdding these effects has been a success as it has

allowed quite still and boring footage to be elevated. The effects have been applied only to footage from the photography studio, as effects weren't necessary on other pieces on footage due to them being bright colourful and urban.
