Lia Busby as the Mother

Lia Busby plays the mother in my trailer. A ghost that haunts the house in which her son mysteriously died. She constantly haunts the house looking for her child and preys on passers by.

Lia’s ClothesLia wore a long white dress which was inspired by various other horor movies. I also instructed her to keep her hair down long to cover her face which is very conventional for the horror genre. I also had her bare foot as I thought this would add to the realism of the trailer. I was inspired by the film the Grudge.( Sas seen in the image to the right) White dress normally connotes innocence however in horror films this idea is juxtaposed as it can be seen as ‘creepy’ and ‘disturbingas’ it plays with normal ideoligys to create something that is both frightening and overwhelming for an audience

Makeup

For Lias makeup I used dark eye shadow and eyeliner to create a sense of unnatural behavior I also wanted to fit to the horror convention of having dark eyes covered by hair. This made her look more scary and suspicious to the audience.

The girlsI wanted the girls to relate to my target audience as I feel it’s a successful technique in engaging a relationship between the characters and audience, therefor I chose actors of the ages of 17-18. I wanted to display two of the characters as nasty or slightly ‘bossy’ to add interest into my trailer. It also related to my plot line as the two nastier characters ask ‘Celia’ to enter the house as a dare.

I asked the girls to dress how they normally would as I thought this would be the best representation of my target age group. I think this was successful and aided the verisimilitude within my trailer.
