Puri is the most visited place in Odisha that is located in the coastal area.

Puri is famous for its historic antiquities, sanctuaries, architectural grandeur, seascape beauty, moderate climate etc.

The unique places like Lord Jagannath Temple and the Sun Temple at Konark are famous in the world.

Puri is locally known as “Shrikhetra” and and Lord Jagannath temple is known as "Badadeula" .

Puri is also called as the holy city of India and mentioned in ancient puranas as a part of Char Dham Pilgrimage.

Puri is also known as Purusottam Puri and the abode of Lord Jagannath.

You will also witness a moderately humid climate of the place

throughout the year.

Jagannath Temple :-

Lord Jagannath temple was built in 12th century during the era of eastern Ganga dynasty.

The Jagannath temple is the most sacred place for Hindus in Odisha.

The temple is one of the important pilgrimage destination that a Hindu is expected to visit once in life time.

It's also famous for the Rath yatra or cart or chariot festival that takes place once annually.

Unlike other statues are made from stone or metal, the statue of Lord Jagannath is carved from wood and replaced

in every 9 to 12yrs.

Puri Beach :-

The beach is on the shore of Bay of Bengal and one of the best tourist attractions if you want to enjoy the sunrise and sunset, the cool and calm breeze. The best part is; it is one of the safest beach in the world.

The beach is also famous for sand art and the annual beach festival.

Raghurajpur

Raghurajpur is called the living museum for its pattachitras, age-old traditional paintings on canvas, masks, stone idols, sculptures, wooden

toys and many more.

The village ambiance is very pleasing and it is called as the Heritage Craft Village of Odisha.

Sakhigopal

Sakhigopal is famous as the home of a life-size image of Lord Krishna standing with flute and Radha is standing on the left side.

Pipili

The place is famous as a craft village for Applique work with bright colors.

People here craft on different items like umbrellas, lamps shades, wall cloths, table covers, sofa covers, children

cloths, bed covers etc.

Gundicha Temple The temple was built by the queen of King Indradyumna the

founder of the 1st Jagannath temple.

The temple is located near to Jagannath temple and most visited place at time of cart festival.
