WHAT IS A KIBBUTZ?• A kibbutz is a collective community in Israel that was traditionally based

on agriculture• type of settlement which is unique to Israel• Small society of people who live together communally according to

socialist principles. Kibbutzim • Privatized kibbutzim use their communal coffers to take care of the

elderly, sick, and those otherwise unable to earn high wages, and they also provide for health care, education, and culture for their members.
