What We Did

• The first grade stream team conducted a survey to discover more about what adults know and think about environmental issues related to our stream project this year.

• We tallied the data and created graphs to show the results.

1st Graders Know What Potable Water is!

1st Graders Know About Pollution in Our Streams!

• Pet waste• Road salt• Lawn fertilizer• Detergents like car

wash soap• Leaking oil from cars• Litter like paper, cans,

bottles, etc.• Loose soil

1st Graders Are Working on Finding Out Where the Storm Drains in Webster Lead To!

• We think all of the drains lead to streams, ponds, and Lake Ontario.

• We still need to do more research.

1st Graders Know About Macroinvertebrates in Our Streams!

• If we observe stonefly larvae in the stream, then it must be really clean!
