Hell: Where We Don’t Want to Go

Do you want to go to heaven or hell?II Peter 3:10: The earth will one day

come to a surprising and sudden end.Hebrews 9:27: “And as it is appointed

for men to die once, but after this the judgment.”

Romans 3:23: “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

We all want to go to heaven, but we do not deserve to go to heaven.

Hell: Where We Don’t Want to Go

Because in hell, I would be separated from the presence of God.

II Thessalonians 1:9: “These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.”

Acts 17:28: All of us (Christian or non-Christian) live, move and have our being.

In hell, there is no light, life or ability to move; you’re only cut off from God.

Hell: Where We Don’t Want to Go

Because in hell, I would face absolute torment.

Matthew 25:46: “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Luke 16:19-31: Rich man in torment.Cries and pleas of the rich man (v. 24, 27-

28); notice the reversal of fortune.Once you have died, there is no way to

change your destination (v. 26).

Hell: Where We Don’t Want to Go

Because my stay in hell would be eternal. The punishment is everlasting (Matthew

18:8; 25:41; Jude 7).Romans 11:22: “Therefore consider the

goodness and severity of God.”Matthew 10:28: “And do not fear those

who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
