A person is considered non-filial when they do not observe traditions the parent has passed away. Which is more important? To be filial while parent is alive or after parent has died?

Honour parents by respecting them: -

     Col 3:20 Children, obey your parents in

everything, for this pleases the Lord Prov 6:20-22, My son, keep your father’s command and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.21 Bind them always on your heart; fasten them around your neck. 22

When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you.

Honour parents by not bringing shame to them : -

•  Prov 10:1 A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother

•  Prov 23:25 May your father and mother rejoice; may she who gave you birth be joyful!

Honour parents by taking care of them: -

•  1 Tim 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved - you and your household.”
