The United States and World War II

Prior to the outbreak of World War II, the United States was in an isolationist mode. Our diplomatic position was

NEUTRALITY.

By the early 1940s, however, we started to realize that

the policy of NEUTRALITY conflicted with your own self

interest.

Congress passed the Lend-Lease Act and began to assist our

friends in Europe.

During the Battle of Britain, one of our European friends (England/Great Britain) was able to fight off the German assault

with the

English Royal Air Force.
