CHHATTISGARH VIDHAN SABHA

The Chhattisgarh legislative assembly is the state

legislature of Chhattisgarh state in central India.

The Chhattisgarh Vidhan sabha consists of 91

members. Elections are conducted in different

localities of Chhattisgarh for the selection of its

members.

The constituency is reserved for

various different castes, as there are

constituencies reserved for the

scheduled caste, schedule tribes and to

women as well.

For getting selected as a member of the

Chhattisgarh Legislative assembly many

candidates appear in this election. The person

contesting the election is a candidate.

A candidate can participate from a specific region and the

candidate getting the maximum number of votes in that

region will be elected as the member of the legislative

assembly representing for the welfare and development of

that region and state.

A person can become a minister

only if he/she is a member of the

legislative assembly.

Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha passed a bill which

gives the government wide ranging powers to

confiscate properties of its employees who amass

wealth through corrupt means.

The Special Court Bill 2015 will ensure prompt

disposal of corruption cases against all those who

draw salaries or any other money through treasuries

— ministers, people's representatives, all officers

and employees, including those in state judicial

services.

It aims at strictly enforcing

the state's policy of zero

tolerance towards corruption

and ensures the disposal of

corruption without delay.

The state government would request high

court to appoint judge of special courts to be

set up under the new law. The old cases could

also be referred to the special courts for

adjudication. The state will make a

proclamation for referring them to the special

courts.

The concerned public servant

would be given a month's time to

present his side while the bill

provides for a provision for filing

appeal in the high court.

If the state government believes that any property belonging to

civil servants or their families were earned through corrupt

means, an application would be moved before the special court

for its confiscation. Members of the ruling and opposition

members participated in the debate on the special courts bill

2015, which was later adopted voice vote.

The Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha came into existence

on the 1st of May 1960. The elected member has a 5

year term membership. The members are elected by

the citizens only. The number of voters this time has

been increasing day by day and counting starts until

the elections going to be held. The youth population of

the Chhattisgarh has increased a lot.
