Lung Cancer Pathways - Literature

• 3 main routes to lung cancer diagnosis: primary care, emergency department or incidental finding

• UK study: 61% via primary care, 23% via ED and 11% incidental findings (Barrett & Hamilton, 2008)

• Australian audit: 68% GP, 12% ED (Largey et al, 2013) - Small sample size (n=25)

• Despite complexity, very little Australian data documents patient pathways in lung cancer.
