Thyroid Gland The thyroid is a gland of the endocrine

(secrete hormones directly into the blood without channel).

There is a small gland at the front of the neck surrounding the larynx and trachea.

Pass from behind the thyroid nerve which is very important responsible for the movement of the vocal cords in the larynx, so one injury in the thyroid gland eradication process may lead to a severe change in sound and wounding both may lead to an inability to speak.

• Stop Carbimazol ( 3 days before treatment) • Low iodine diet ( 2 weeks before treatment).• Stop doing CT scan ( 2 month before treatment).• For women's:

– Should not be pregnant. – Stop breast feeding before treatment

( 2 months before treatments )

• Fruits & vegetables• Food without salt• White part of eggs• Nuts ( beans)

Not Allowed

• Sea Food• Iodized Salt• Milk + yogurt + cheese• yolk• pickle• Medications that contain

iodine• Herbal Remedies + henna

After treatment1. On the way back to the house you should sit in

the back seat (on the right).2. Use the special dishes and spoons or plastic

dishes you can get rid of them after a meal.3. Drink water frequently and eat sweets and acidic

juices.4. sleep alone in bed and avoid personal contact.5. Avoid going to crowded places for a long time

(banquets, weddings, markets and cinema).6. On breastfeeding women stop breastfeeding

categorically to this child.7. Bathed daily (at least twice) and wash your

hands frequently.8. Use a private toilet and drag Siphon more than

once and no pollution ground water cycle with criticism and others.

9. Wash your clothes individually.10. Do Not approach the children and pregnant

women.11. Obligatory for men and women healers

On the day of discharge from hospital will be subjected to a body imaging in nuclear medicine department to take Gamma-ray images of the body from different angles.

May be notified of the need to take additional pictures of the rays on another day.

After you leave the hospital you will be given some instructions that must be adhered at least within 7 days after departure.

After treatment1. On the way back to the house you should sit in

the back seat (on the right).2. Use the special dishes and spoons or plastic

dishes you can get rid of them after a meal.3. Drink water frequently and eat sweets and acidic

Not Allowed• No visitors are allowed to enter the patient's room (young

or old).• Please do not spit or vomit on the floor of the room

Tools that can be brought to the patient isolation room

• And bring a toothbrush and enough toothpaste hair comb. You should throw it in the allocated bags after treatment.

• Bring slippers for wearing in the isolation room only and then throw it in the allocated bags.

• You will have the hospital clothes and towels, but if you want to use your own clothes, you can do so. Note that you can not remove them from the isolation room. (For women: Bring the head cover (Alliso)).

• Fetch sour candy that sucks during your stay to help the secretion of saliva and disposal of radiation in a shorter period.

•  Bring water and juices sour.• TV and landline phone functions that are involved in the isolation room.• If you bring your mobile phone and Laptop and iPad will need to wear gloves or

put them in a plastic bag during use.

During treatment in an isolation room

• Eat a light breakfast at 6:00 and then stopped eating and drinking.

• Taking a pill to avoid nausea, half an hour before the treatment.

• Physicist will give you a radioactive capsule under the supervision of a doctor.

• Do not eat any food after swallowing the capsule for two hours.

• Drink plenty of fluids and acidic juices.• Bathing twice a day at least twice and pull the toilet after

each use.
