Camping at the Mote Information
We are delighted that you have chosen to Camp at the Mote at Ramblin’ Man Fair adjacent to Mote Park. Please see below all the informaAon you will need to enjoy your stay. For the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all guests please read and observe the informaAon provided. Campsite I+nerary Friday 24 July: 12:00 Camping at the Mote Opens 12:00 Bar opens at The Mote 23:00 Last new admission for the evening 00:30 Bar closes at The Mote Saturday 25 July: 11:00 Bar opens at The Mote 12:00 Main Arena Opens 13:00 Music starts 23:00 Music and Bars Close in Main Arena with an hour extension for late refreshments (food and non alcoholic drinks) 00:30 Bar closes at The Mote Sunday 26 July: 11:30 Bar opens at The Mote 12:00 Main Arena Opens 13:00 Music starts 21:30 Bar closes at The Mote 22:30 Music and Bars Close in Main Arena with an hour extension for late refreshments (food and non alcoholic drinks) Monday 27 July: 12:00 Camping at the Mote closes Access Informa+on Camping at the Mote is based at The Mote Cricket Club which is adjacent to Mote Park and a stones throw to the entrance of the Fair. Please respect the land, the wildlife and the local residents who are a few hundred metres away. On arriving all Camping at the Mote guests should enter The Mote Cricket Club at the entrance on Willow Way. The address is The Mote Cricket Club, Willow Way, Maidstone, Kent ME15 7RN. Please have your booking confirmaAons ready to be presented at the entrance where you will be given your wristbands to access the camping area. You will be guided to your camping pitch from this point. A pitch is waiAng for you which will be allocated on arrival depending on your vehicle and the type of accommodaAon you are using (tents, caravans, campervans or motorhomes). Car parking is at your pitch and cars are le[ at your own risk. Do not leave valuables in your car. All Camping at the Mote guests will be required to keep their wristbands with them at all Ames to gain access to the campsite. You will receive a separate event wristband when you first enter the Fair, which will provide you with access to the Fair over the weekend. Remember your Camping at the Mote package did not include a Acket to gain entry to the Fair. Please ensure you have your event Acket with you too. If you are in a group camping on one pitch and arriving separately the first camper to arrive will collect all your wristbands. If you are arriving a[er this you will need to contact this person prior to your arrival for them to meet you.
Access to Camping at the Mote is for camping guests only with their valid wristband. The last admission on Friday 24 July for new campers is 23:00. Please vacate the campsite by 2pm on Monday 27 July 2015. Vehicle movements: Due to the locaAon of Camping at the Mote and the anAcipated traffic flows around Mote Park vehicle movements are severally restricted on the event days for Health and Safety reasons. We advise that you do not try and leave in your vehicle, as there may be a long wait to return. Camping and car parking is at your own risk. The promoter and Mote Cricket Club shall not be held liable for loss, injury or damage sustained within Mote Park or The Mote Cricket Club. Entry to the Fair is via the Main Entrance on Saturday 25 July: this is “A” on the map. General Informa+on Camping Pitches: camping is arranged in a series of 7m x 6m pitches for up to 4 people that can accommodate tents, caravans, campervans and motor homes. The price includes 4 people and one vehicle. If you require addiAonal people or vehicles extra charges apply (please see our website). You must ensure all of your items are kept within your pitch and that all the fire lanes are le[ clear at all Ames. The smaller single person pitches will be spaced around the site where there are gaps. Search Policy: You may be searched at the entrance to the campsite and the Fair for any restricted items. If found they will be confiscated. Do not aeempt to bring in illegal substances as you stand a very real chance of being caught. Restricted items that cannot be bought into the campsite or arena: -‐ Offensive weapons or anything that may be considered to be an offensive weapon -‐ Any glass containers of any kind (e.g. drink boeles or ketchup boeles) -‐ Illegal drugs (prescripAon drugs are acceptable) -‐ Fireworks, flares, laser pens or laser equipment -‐ Air horns -‐ Music Sound systems -‐ With the excepAon of Assistance Dogs, no animals are allowed on site -‐ Alcohol (arena only) Glass: no glass items of any kind can be bought into the campsite. Please respect and adhere to this rule as you are camping on sports fields that are used by both adults and children for playing rugby. Drinks and food in the campsite: you are able to bring alcoholic drinks and food into campsite but no glass boeles or containers are allowed. Drinks and food in the arena: as the arena is licensed you are not able to bring alcohol into the arena. You can bring a 500ml boele of water into the arena that can be refilled from the water taps provided. There will be plenty of bars on site selling a variety of drinks at reasonable prices. You can bring a small amount of precooked food of the snack variety. Picnic hampers are not allowed. Cooking & Fires: Open campfires are strictly prohibited on site. Cooking is not permieed by your accommodaAon structure but a cooking area will be provided. There will be a catering unit within the Camping at the Mote area and a large selecAon of food outlets to cater for all tastes at reasonable prices within the arena.
Water: There are standpipes that contain free drinking water in the campsites and the arena. Toilets: There are regularly cleaned toilets in the Camping at the Mote Campsite. Please help us by keeping them clean; it will be mutually beneficial. Always wash your hands a[er using the toilets. Rubbish & Waste: Please place rubbish in bins provided to help make the environment as nice as possible for all Ramblers. Valuables: if you don’t need it – don’t bring it! Carry money, credit cards, mobile phones, cameras, and all other valuables with you at all Ames. Lockers are available to hire which will be situated next to “B” on the map. Noise: Please respect your fellow campers and local residents by keeping noise to a minimum when walking around the campsite during the night/early hours of the morning. Emergency Exits: Ensure you know where your nearest emergency exits are and follow any instrucAons given by Stewards or Security. Emergency Services: There is 24 hour medical care and fire response on site. If you need any assistance please iniAally look for a Steward on site who can alert the response teams and get a quick response. Only dial 999 in an emergency if you can not quickly find a steward. If you need to take medicaAon regularly remember to bring it and let your friends know of any illness or allergies you may have.
Camping at the Mote FAQ’s Where is Camping at the Mote situated? Camping at the Mote is situated at The Mote Cricket Club adjacent to Mote Park and a minutes walk away to the entrance of the Fair. When is Camping at the Mote open? It is open from midday on Friday 24 July to midday on Monday 27 July. What is the last admission +me on Friday 24 July? The last admission is 23:00. How do we access the area if we are driving? The vehicle entrance is located off Willow Way, Maidstone, Kent ME15 7RN. Where do I park? Parking is at your pitch. What facili+es are available? Toilets and showers are provided (including disabled toilets and showers). The cricket clubhouse bar will be open and a food outlet is provided. Is there a bar open in the camping area? Yes, the cricket club bar will be open. Can we have a BBQ and camp stove? A cooking area is provided. Unfortunately you are not allowed BBQs or open fires at your accommodaAon. You are able to use a small gas stove to boil a keele at your accommodaAon. Is there a supermarket in walking distance? The nearest supermarket which you should visit before you enter The Mote is Sainsbury’s, Romney Place, Maidstone, Kent ME15 6SF address. This is one mile away. Is security provided? A security fence borders The Mote and there will be 24-‐hour security in the area. However we advise that you keep valuables with you at all Ames or you hire one of the lockers provided. Noise patrol stewards will operate a[er midnight due to the close proximity of some local residences. They will ask politely if the noise levels are too loud.
What alcohol can we bring into the campsite? You are able to bring alcohol onto the campsite but no glass boeles of any type are allowed. You are not able to take alcohol out of the campsite. What alcohol can we bring into the arena? As the arena is licensed you are not able to bring alcohol into the area. You can bring a 500ml boele of water into the arena that can be refilled from the water taps provided. There will be plenty of bars on site selling a variety of drinks at reasonable prices. Will we be searched on entry to the Campsite and Arena? A so[ bag search will be undertaken looking for restricted items. My friend is not camping but would like to join us at our tent, is this allowed? Unfortunately not, only campers are allowed in the camping area.
