What’s “Judgefinder?”

• Platform for debate institutions to look for remote judges

• Cheaper alternative to having a full-time trainer or to have the full-time trainer travel to their school/institution

• Non-profit website

What’s “Judgefinder?”

• Database for judges around Malaysia

• Do you want to find somebody with experience in “Asian-BP?” Search it on our site.

• Search for the name a judge on our site

Why “Judgefinder?”• Not everyone is privileged enough to grow up in active debating scenes.

• This meant people living outside of the Klang Valley has less opportunity to get feedback

• This initiative aims to close the gap

How to use Judgefinder?

(For Debaters looking for Judges)

Method 1

• Add yourself in the Judgefinder facebook group.

• 1) If you have a pre-recorded debate (be it audio or video), upload it to a streaming site (Soundcloud, Youtube) OR upload it to a hosting site (WeTransfer, Mediafire)

• 2) Share the link in the Judgefinder group. If you don’t have a pre-recorded debate, it’s fine. Just kindly ask in the group.

• 3) Give details for your debate

• Motion: Set a motion for your debate• Debate Format: Asians/Australs/Worlds? How many minutes

per speech?• List of Debaters: List down their names, speaker

positions, institutions and a brief description of their experience

• Feedback Criteria: What are you looking for in oral feedback? Do you seek feedback on how to improve as a speaker? Anything specific are looking for?

• Feedback Format: Do you prefer the feedback in audio format or feedback on paper?

• What’s your price range?• What is your waiting period for feedback?

• Example:

• Motion: TH regrets the rise of tiger parenting• Debate Format: Asians, 7 minutes, No reply speeches• List of Debaters: SMK Batu Lintang (PM: A, DPM: B, GW:

C) vs SM SAKURA (LO: X, DLO: Y, GW: Z)• Feedback Criteria: We are looking to improve on

building arguments and deconstructing rebuttals. Please assess whether we have been doing this right and what we can do to improve.

• Feedback Format: We’d prefer an audio recording.• Price Range: RM30-50/round.• Waiting Period: 3 days max.

• 4) Wait for judges to respond in the group.

• 5) When they respond, you can check their profiles on http://judgefinder.blogspot.my/ (we are still working on it)

• 6) Kindly reply the judges privately to accept/reject their offer. Please be kind to them too.

• 7) Wait for their oral feedback.• 8) If you feel like it, you can write a review for the judge and post it on the site.

Method 2

How to use Judgefinder?

(For Judges)

• Add yourself in the Judgefinder facebook group and register on the site.

• Wait for our moderators to approve your submission (just in case of trolls :P )

Now you have a profile!

• You can use this as a CV• You can use this for adj subsidy application• You can use this to evaluate other

adjudicators from the feedback form on the profile page

• If you want to change any information, we will add a report function soon.
