Bombing of Pearl Harbor
•On December 7, 1941 in
Pearl Harbor, Hawaii - the
Japanese surprise the
American Naval Worship
were completely destroyed.
After 4 hours the Japanese
Air raided Davao, Baguio,
Iba, Tarlac and Clark Field.
•According to President
Franklin Roosevelt: “
A date which will live
in infamy.”
World War II
•From December 8 - Rapid
Expansion of the Japanese
that they successfully landed
in North Luzon, Bicol
Region, Davao and Tayabas.
•December 11, in Batangas
tried to defend by a Filipino
Pilot head by Capt. Jesus
Villamor. But on December
22, 1941, General Masaharu
Homma landed in
Lingayen.
Manila Open City
•To save Manila from total
destruction, Gen. Douglas
Mac Arthur declared it an
Open City on December 26,
1941: Japanese era began.
•The Japanese occupy
Manila on December 30
while Quezon second
inaugural ceremonies took
place in Corregidor where

the Japanese government.

that on January 23, 1942

in Leyte with 650 marine
ships.
•On October 23, Tacloban
become the Capital and won
the Battle of Leyte Gulf on
October 26, 1944.
February 3, 1945 launched a
full scale invasion of Manila
that ended in February 23,
1945.
