Motivation

• How to start the course with a fun and immersive way to the topic ofUX design and evaluation (course TIE-41306 at TUT)?

• How to support the team formation from the first day of building thedesign teams for course’s project work?

Solution

• Get the students out of the classroom• Give them a competitive challenge, compete after the activity• Give them tasks to ideate, reflect and build on the topic of UX• Use appropriate technological support• Discuss the solutions of the teams in class jointly after the activity

Implementation

• Six tasks at checkpoints – five inside (QR codes), one outside (GPS)• Students had two hours of lectures on UX prior to the exercise session

• On facets of UX, UX models and components of UX
