Streaming Defined

Streaming - “The transfer of video and audio material over a network (now esp. the Internet) as a continuous, real-time stream of data.”* Items play as they are downloaded – not after they are downloaded.

Streaming Server - A streaming server contains RTP and RTSP protocols that allow media to be sent to a client so that it can be played back immediately and without waiting for it to download completely first.

param sets the particular parameters for the resource

The “movie” param gives the location of the resource.

The “allowFullScreen” param gives the option to allow the resource to be viewed in full-screen mode.

The “allowscriptaccess” param lets the computer that is being used to go out and get the resource (if it is not located on the same server).

embed is the tag that tells the internet browser to view the resource in that particular location (not to link to it).
