Established in the year 2003, VR Group has emerged as one of the fastest growing
companies within the New Zealand Hospitality Industry. At present, VR group manages
18 hotels and serviced apartments under its portfolio, which are primarily rated 4 star and

the pre-construction team incorporates all

the pre-construction to construction

Quality Inn Central Denver March 2010
Job
2 Million United States Dollars refurbishment
over a 6 month period. Upgrades included
replacement of lifts, room upgrades with new
carpeting, public area upgrades, new fire
systems and new Air-Conditioning/Heat Pump
system throughout the premises.
Result
A top performing hotel in Denver Colorado
with occupancies in the top 10% in the city.
Auckland Takapuna Oaks July 2011
Job
1 Million New Zealand Dollars refurbishment
over a 2 month period. Upgrades included full
furniture fit-out, new kitchens in every room,
new carpeting throughout the property, roof
re-construction and public area paving.
Result
Takapuna Oaks has been a revelation in the
Auckland Hotel Market. Constantly ranked in
the top 3 hotels in Auckland on Trip Advisor,
Takapuna Oaks is a 5 star boutique apartment
hotel that will exceed all expectations.
Auckland Airport Kiwi Hotel January 2011
Job
500,000 New Zealand Dollars refurbishment
over a 4 month period. Upgrades included
new carpeting, total new bathrooms,
complete restaurant kitchen, furniture
upgrade, landscaping of grounds, new roof
for the hotel and blacktopping of the car
park.
Result
The occupancy for its first year of operation
under the VR Management tells the complete
story, 97% for a calendar year from the day of
takeover is astonishing considering the
property was bought with an occupancy of
16%.
Auckland Airport Kiwi Motel November 2010
Job
800,000 New Zealand Dollars refurbishment
over a 6 month period. Rooms were gutted
and made to a new standard. This included
new furniture, bathrooms, walls, kitchens,
painting, driveways being black-toped, new
reception and new signage.
Result
When the motel was taken over by VR it was
shut down and in dire need of TLC. After year
one VR achieved a 94% occupancy – numbers
really do tell the full story. Both Auckland
Airport Kiwi Hotel and Motel have made its
mark in the Auckland Airport Region – a top
performer.

Scotia Place Auckland December 2012
Job
2 Million New Zealand Dollars refurbishment
over 6 months. VR have taken an old student
hostel and transformed the hostel into an 82
room hotel in Auckland’s CBD. Everything
from the bathrooms, kitchen, bar, restaurant,
rooms, carpeting, lifts, public areas and car
parking were newly done as good as
complete re-build
Result
Being in its first year of operation, Scotia
Place, now known as Ascotia off Queen is a
Qualmark 3.5 star rating hotel and under the
VR management has shown an occupancy of
more than 80 % till date
Sampann Villa Boutique Residences
Job
5 Million New Zealand Dollars project. New
Construction from the ground up of a
boutique hotel in New Delhi, India.
Result
80% year round occupancy in its first year of
operation.
Queen Street Oaks current project
Job
15 million New Zealand Dollars rebuild over 12
months. VR has taken over this property to
transform it into a 4.5 star serviced apartment
with 90 rooms to offer. The property is on the
prime street of Auckland and will be in the
centre of all city buzz
Result
The project is scheduled for completion by 1
Feb 2014 and result into yet another prized
4.5 star property under VR group.
