Welcome back, everyone!

And now… O 60 seconds of silence for roll!

So, what WAS the best thing you did over break?

O Turn and tell the person next to you!

One new thingO With some new people and a break,

we want to make sure we know the people in our ensemble and feel comfortable with them.

O We are going to play “Connection Bingo” for the last 5 minutes of class for the next two days.

O You can only win prizes if you have your game board, so don’t lose it!

And now, it’s time for…

Name that legend!

A drama game show.

Who was…O The first actor

Thespis!

Who was…O The man who

reinvented acting to be more realistic

Stanislavski!

Who was…O The most famous

playwright of all time, who wrote “To be or not to be”

William Shakespeare!

Who was…O The man who

wrote “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Evita,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” and “Cats”

Andrew Lloyd Webber!

Drama LegendsO We are going to be doing a project

about Drama Legends and Modern Innovators.

O You are going to draw a legend’s name today during class, and that will be the person you are responsible for researching.

Drawing of LegendsO I am going to come to your desk, and

you are going to pick one name.O When we are done, you will have 90

seconds to trade with a classmate if you would like to.

RecordO When I call your name, tell me what

theatre legend you have.O While I am doing this, the legends

worksheet will be passed out.

Your projectO You will look up the person you have

been assigned online or in Ms. Horn’s personal drama library after school.

O You will answer the 5 questions about your legend on the paper.

What will we do to be graded

O Cross out number six.O Instead of re-writing the questions

into a paper, you will be making a poster of your drama legend’s life and legacy.

O This poster should have their name, date of birth (and death), what they did for theatre, and a picture.

O Your poster needs to be the size of at least 2 pieces of paper (or half a poster board).

When is it due?O This project is due 1/28.O That day, I will collect

O Your completed Legends WorksheetO Your poster

Later that week…O You will be acting like your person

during a Drama Legends Party, and your classmates will be guessing who you are.

O We will talk more about this as the project due date gets closer.

Any questions?
