History of Political Parties

When George Washington gave his Farewell Address he warned America of what 3 things???Avoid foreign alliances, avoid debt, and avoid political parties.

True or False

1. I believe that Shays Rebellion and the Whiskey Rebellion posed a threat to our country. This type of mob rule provides no benefit for the people and does not keep our government in check. 2. I believe that United States should not help the people of France overthrow their government. That is their business. 3. I believe that the federal government should be strong to keep our nation unified. Too much state power causes way too many problems and the Federal gov’t can make all states happy. 4. I believe that the Constitution should be flexible and should not be followed word for word. The president and congress should be able to do things not stated in the Constitution. 5. I believe that the national government should keep have a common currency and a strong national bank. I don’t think a national bank could become corrupt while handling all of the nation’s money. 6. I believe that we should trade with England instead of France. The people of England are our distant family. 7. I believe that large cities provide the best opportunities to make money and provide for the best kind of living. Farming life is not for me. 8. I anticipate being wealthy as an adult. I will probably choose a profession such as business owner, lawyer, or doctor. 9. I believe that the United States should always have a large military. I don’t feel as if military power could be abused by people in power (i.e. to stop another American Revolution). 10. I believe only educated, property owners ae capable of self-government. You should not be able to vote unless you own property and are educated.
