VINTAGE30We made pioneering use of Laser DopplerInterferometry to analyse the conebehaviour of an original Celestion Blue. Wecould then form a precise model of thevintage speaker’s characteristics and applyit to a speaker design using new materialsfor greater power handling.

It was found that Celestion’s ‘H’ magnet cameclosest in performance to Alnico. This waspartnered with a new cone and new coilassembly employing modern materials withsimilar mass and physical properties to theoriginals, but better able to handle the extraheat generated through operating with higherpower equipment.

Seemingly twice as loud as anything else atthe same power level, the Vintage 30 handlesmassive overdrive sounds with ease. Tightbass, fat mids and a smooth, harmonically richtop end have made the Vintage 30 anexcellent 4 x 12 loudspeaker. Of course, it’salso suitable for any other cab!
