Canvas LMS Integration
IDS capabilities include:
• Integration with Vidyo for on-demand asset access through Canvas LMS
• Integration with Vidyo for live virtual meeting room access through Canvas LMS

• Roles for both Instructor and Student are supported

Setup
• Follow the 2-page installation guide to enable
the VFC functionality
• This document can be found on the IDS website

Login
• If you don’t already have a Canvas account, your
Administrator will need to create one for you
• Once created, you will receive an email asking you to
login
• Select a new password and press Register

Dashboard
• The Dashboard is the first screen you’ll see with a
new login
• You can create a video welcome to introduce a user
to the VFC features
• If one is provided, press the jp (Play) button to view

• The main VFC menu can be found by
accessing your Account and then
selecting Settings

Approved Integrations
• Vidyo for Canvas integration (VFC)
• If the VFC setup was successful, details
will provide access token details
• NOTE: This is for administration level
verification, but also validates the VFC
installation. If you don’t see this under
Approved Integrations, contact your
system administrator

• Select the VidyoForCanvas button to
access the main VFC page

• The Settings tab lets you enter your
Vidyo credentials so that the Canvas
LMS can synchronize video assets and
account parameters such as personal
meeting room
• This should be a user’s first step
• Once you enter your credentials, you
will see a “profile updated” message.
Click the Settings tab again
• Click on the Cache all Videos button to
bring all Vidyo Replay videos into the
system

• Provides a shortcut to log into your Vidyo

• NOTE: After entering your credentials as
detailed in the previous page, it is
suggested that you click the “here” button to
login to your Replay account to verify that
you can access the Replay server

invite will launch the Vidyo application
and place student in the Instructor’s

• The meeting invitation will be
displayed on the Canvas calendar for
any student enrolled in the course
specified in the meeting invite by the
instructor

• Video can be embedded right into the
assignment using the IDVP button
• You will automatically be directed to
your course-level video asset library
and can attach the appropriate video

• After clicking on the IDVP icon, select
the appropriate video by clicking on
the link icon
• The video will be embedded in the
assignment window
• Any student enrolled in this course will
now see the assignment

• Once a student logs in to their account
they will notice any new assignments
• They will also notice any scheduled
meetings that are on their calendar

• When the student selects the
Assignment they will see any
instructions that the teacher included
as well as the embedded video
• Clicking on the play button will start
the video playback
• They can then watch the video and
complete their assignment
