EXITING STUDENTS
As we are now looking at our grade formation for 2017, we need
to know if your child is leaving us next year. If your child/ren
will be leaving Kings Park Primary School to go elsewhere,
could you please contact the school on 9367 6555 or put it in
writing and send the letter with your child. If you are going on
holidays and your child/ren will not be here for the first day of
school (31st January, 2017) you need to complete a form which
can be obtained from the school office so that a place maybe
kept for your child/ren. Also, any child who will not be here for
the last week of school needs to inform the office so that

ART NEWS
National Gallery of Victoria
The Grade 4’s visited the National Gallery to see the Australian Quilt exhibition. They
also had a chance to look at other works there by Australian artists. Here are some of
their thoughts about the day:
* I liked the quilts and the paintings. They had so much detail in
them. Anastasija 4M
* I liked so many arts in the gallery. I liked the colourful and the
crazy ones but my favourite one was called ‘The Bridge in Curve’.
Linda 4M
* I liked ‘The Pioneer’ painting because it had a good story.
Bawi 4
* I liked the quilts because they were so large, beautiful and
unique. Phoenix 4J
* I really liked the big art head made out of marble. It was probably
very hard to make. Peter 4M
My favourite part was when I saw the Aboriginal weapons because I got to see what they used.
Alvin 4J
My two favourite things were the sculptures by Bruce Armstrong and the abstract art called
‘Spraygun Virus’ by Tony Gillick. Jaydan 4J
My favourite part was the quilts because they were made in the olden days and they were colour-
ful. Some of them were HUGE! Some of them were made for clothes. WOW! Cindy 4J
My favourite thing was the royal dress. Sofia 4J
International Peace Poster Competition
Kings Park was invited to enter the International Peace Poster Competition
by the Deer Park Lions Club. Many Grade 5 and 6 students created fabulous
posters and these were judged this week by the club’s president. The
winning poster will move on to the next level, the state competition.
Congratulations to all who entered and especially Vikki Vo of 6B for being
our school’s winner.
The runner up posters will be hanging in our corridors. Look out for them.
Good luck Vikki.
