Vacation Care Program Friday 30th November 2018 - Tuesday 29th January 2019
Our program is aimed at primary school aged children, providing quality care and fun activities for your child, in a safe and friendly environment. We offer a range of recreational experiences including excursions and in-house activities. Children not at primary school may still attend, at the discretion of the Nominated Supervisor - Adeina Shackleton
General Information: Cost per day: $64 per child / per day. Location: Rockhampton Grammar Outside School Hours Care, in the Primary School Campus, beside the Primary School Office. Access along the front of Duggan Hall. Hours: 6:30 am — 6:00 pm
Late pick up fee after 6:00pm - $1.00 per minute per child. The Service is not licensed to operate after 6pm, the fee is a deterrent for late collection. Please advise the service if you are running late so we can set your child’s mind at ease and staff can make other arrangements if needed.
Daily Activities: Each day your child will have access to the various constructive equipment, Music, Home Corner, Outside Games, Quiet Areas, Art & Craft and on occasion the children will have access to the Xbox and/or Wii U. We reserve the right to change activities due to unforeseen circumstances.
Excursions: All children require an Excursion Form to be signed by their parent and returned to OSH or the ELC prior to attending the program. All excursion costs applicable on days your child is booked in to Vacation Care will be added to your fees. For excursions requiring payment on the day such as Movies, Crazy Joker etc (as indicated on the day’s program), Parents are asked to bring the money to the service and give it to the Responsible Educator on Duty (Miss Helen).
Booking Policy: All bookings are to be made through the My Family Lounge app prior to the commencement of the Vacation Care period. Bookings open 2 weeks prior to each vacation period (10th September for the Sept/Oct, Vacation Care Period) and are on a first in first served basis. Once your booking has been processed and you are in our system, any changes or cancellations on your part will still incur the full day’s fee unless 24 hours notice has been given. Changes to your booking can be made via the App or by emailing Adeina at elc@rgs.qld.edu.au.
Accidents/Injuries & Sickness:
For all accidents and injuries, including minor cuts and grazes, first aid will be applied. A record of injuries will be kept and will need to be signed upon departure. We also have the right not to accept a child suffering from any infectious disease or illness. If any child is deemed unfit to be at the program the responsible parent/ guardian will be contacted to come and collect their child.
Vacation Care Requirements
Please ensure your child has the following items every day they attend our Vacation Care program.
Wide Brimmed Hat (No Caps). Closed in shoes Water bottle (Filled with water only) Healthy foods for meal breaks Please make sure your child has enough food for Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea. Money for excursions (when required). Medication if required Must contain a pharmacy label with child’s name and dosage requirements. Notify Educators if
your child has medication as a form is required to be completed by the parent. Sun protective clothing Shirts must have sleeves and preferably a collar. Also ensure clothing is conducive to movement
and play.
Risk Assessments for all excursions are available for viewing in the Reception area.

Wednesday 5th December Crazy Joker Let out your crazy side or simply burn off some energy at the Crazy Joker. Whether it be climbing, bouncing or sliding we are sure there is something to entice you to play and have fun. We will be leaving the centre at 9:40 am and arriving back at 12:15 pm. Friday 7th December Multi Sport We will be able to experience a structured multi-sport program that incorporates various skills. The focus is providing a fun, safe, inclusive program that enables children to develop the necessary skills to enjoy being active. Providing a caring and supportive environment that recognises each child's different stages of physical, social and emotional development. Starting at 10:00 am and finishing at 12:00 pm. Monday 3rd December Bike & Skate Day Bring along your bike, scooter or skates to enjoy riding around the tennis courts and under the covered areas with your friends. Make sure to include your helmet and all safety gear as it is required for you to participate in this activity. Thursday 6th December Recycled Christmas Art Be inspired to create Christmas art using various recycled materials such as boxes or milk bottle caps. Tuesday 4th December Fitzroy Adventure Playground We will be able to explore the playground situated on the bank of the Fitzroy River. Let’s see who can climb up the space net to access the skywalk and slide. There are also smaller slides, rock climbing walls and nets to keep everyone entertained. Wednesday 12th December Kershaw Gardens Playground We will be able to play on the various play equipment under the shade of the sails covering the park. We will be able to slide, swing and climb to our hearts content. They will be using fine and gross motor skills to be challenged on the equipment. We will leave at 9:40 am and return at 12:30 pm. Friday 14th December Vector Health Workout We will be going down to the school gym to take part in some physical fitness. We will participate in a carefully selected program for us. Monday 10th December Sam Morris Author of children`s books visit Sam Morris is coming to the service to share information about being an author of children’s books and the process of story writing. We will learn how ideas are formed, designed and the end product of a book is reached. Sam will deliver a book reading of “Oscar goes to Town” and allow for a discussion about how the story came to be and the drawings used. Thursday 13th December Event Cinemas We will be going to the cinemas to watch The Grinch. Snacks will be provided for the children. Cost: $11.00 and will be charged to your account. Tuesday 11th December Zuu Zuu is the newest craze incorporating movement activities based on observations of animals. We will be squatting like a frog, crawling like a bear and jumping like a gorilla just to name a few. Monday 17th December Water Play Day & Jumping Castle With a hot Summer predicted, what better way to spend the day than splashing around in our swim gear on the oval. Thursday 20th December Bounce Fit The whole point of jumping is to have fun. There`s oodles of benefits, you will be inspired to feel motivated through jump routines, music and participating in games. Tuesday 18th December Rigarlsford Park We will be able to play on the various play equipment under the shade of the sails covering the park. We can slide, swing and climb to our hearts content as we challenge our fine and gross motor skills on the equipment. We will leave at 9:40 am and return at 12:30 pm. Thursday 3rd January Botanical Gardens & Ice Cream We will get the chance to run around in the park’s tropical gardens and visit the homes to over 50
species of Australian native and exotic animals. We may even get a chance to see the new baby chimpanzee. Please bring your hat, water bottle and appropriate shoes. Before departing back to the school we will enjoy an ice cream at the kiosk. Cost: $3.00 to pay on the day. We will be leaving the centre at 9:45 am and returning at 1:00 pm.

Friday 4th January Science Workshop We will be in for some serious fun throughout the workshop. Our science host, Dr Koo Koo, will teach us step by step what to do, with some silly jokes and fun learning opportunities. Some of the experiments we will partake in will be Instant Snow, Gross Slime, Pop Rockets, Balloon inflation without air and Diet Coke and Mentos Explosion. What more could you want!!

Bowling & Laser tag Monday 7th January Scotvale Park We will be visiting Scotvale Park’s facilities with a selection of activities on offer including squash, racquetball, hockey, gymnastics, basketball and vertical rock climbing. This will enhance our gross and fine motor skills. We will enjoy a cold slushie before leaving to return to the school. We will be leaving the service at 9:40 am and

Wednesday 9th January Balloon Twisting Workshop & Magic Show We will be participating in a unique and colourful skilled balloon twisting workshop. We will learn how to make awesome creations using pre-inflated, high quality balloons. We will be mesmerised by magicians through a spectacular magic show. We will be interacting through the show with disappearing /appearing acts, mind reading, card tricks, props, music and lots comedy. Cost is $10.00 per child and will be added to your account.

Tuesday 8th January Pumped Sport & Ambulance Visit We will be able to experience a structured multi-sport program that incorporates various skills. The focus is providing a fun, safe inclusive program that enables children to develop the necessary skills to enjoy being active. Providing a caring and supportive environment that recognises each child's different stages of physical, social and emotional development. In the afternoon we will have a visit from the Ambulance to learn about what they do and what to expect if an ambulance is needed for assistance. Cost: $10:00 and will be added to your account

Thursday 10th January Laser Tag in a Box Laser Tag is a ‘live’ video game that gets the children out and having fun. Come dressed in your best camouflage gear and get ready to challenge your friends. Wednesday 16th January Fire Department Visit & Candle Making The fire department will be coming to the service to share information on fire safety. We will be learning about the important work our firefighters do in keeping us safe in our homes and out in the community. The visit will be between 10:00 am – 12:00 noon. Candle making will inspire children`s creativity to style their very own item to take home. Cost: $12.50 and will be added to your account. Limited numbers have been purchased.

Thursday 17th January Putt Putt Golf Today we will be spending the morning at the Parkhurst Putt Putt Golf Course, trying our luck on the 18 hole course.
