Both are beautiful and bonded Arabian mares.Rescued by GRUNE HEIDI FARM RESCUE
in Lakeland, Fl when found abandoned on a farm in Ocala...left tofend for themselves for years. Both horses had been show horseswith impressive breeding histories but abandoned when age and
disabilities made them "useless".They have been fostered since October with friends UTE and herdaughter KYLA whose love of horses provided them with expert
care and treatment (extensive rain rot) and brought them back tothe beautiful mares they are.

RHH welcomes DALLAS FORD to the team!Dallas is 16 years old and a junior at Santa Fe High School and will
be working at the farm full time until school resumes in the Fallafter which he will continue working on the weekends.
He comes with a full set of farm skills and we think he learned todrive a tractor before a bicycle.
We are so grateful to have him here and the retirees look forward toseeing him with their morning feed buckets!.

Wildlife Picture of the Month
The CICADA
(Cicadetta floridensis)
It’s the season for our cicadas and we can hear the buzzing.Difficult to spot but they leave behind their brown
exoskeletons on tree trunks. This is one Brad found. Onlymales make that power tool sounding buzzing due to the
timbals…drum like body parts…on the sides of theirabdomen. They spend most of their lives in trees eating,
singing, mating and laying eggs before they die a few weekslater. We love their company …especially since they neither
bite nor sting…and are a food source for wildlife.

Handsome GUS happy tomodel his Sox
THANK YOU SOX FOR HORSES, INC (https://soxforhorses.com/)for your donation of over $200 worth of your "Silver Whinnys"
leggings for our retirees! We greatly appreciate your generosity andsupport of RHH and its mission of providing the best care possiblefor all our retirees living at their forever home here at Mill Creek
Farm.It is very helpful to have some leg protection for a horse that hashard to heal scratches, summer sores, dew poisoning etc on their
lower legs. These socks breathe while blocking dirt and insects...the"silver" in the socks creates an antimicrobial barrier that aids in
healing and we are grateful to have them available for our pastureliving retirees.

Champagne sez "hey he's more interested in grass than me!"
Buck is a 29 year old Tennessee Walker gelding that was rescued byRainbow’s Edge Equine Transition Center in Greenville, Fl. He had
been cared for and loved for 29 years by his owner until a healthcrisis created an emergency and an uncertain future for him. Roxanne Spear of Rainbow’s Edge along with their volunteers
stepped in to care for Buck until a safe place was found for him. Shelly Hoornstra, a volunteer and trainer at the rescue transported
him to RHH.We are so grateful to these front line rescuers that spend time,
money, effort and heart in saving these wonderful horses. And RHH is extremely thankful for our volunteers and donors thatmake a forever home possible for them and to our own team thatworks with great dedication to giving them the best lives possible.
