Using SPORTS Strategy

• To use the SPORTS strategy to fill in the blanks in a cloze passage.

• To identify clues in a cloze passage and fill in each blank with the most suitable word.

• Each blank is to be filled in with only one word.

• Answers must be correctly spelt and be grammatically correct.

Note :

• Read passage at least twice before starting.

1. Read the following passage twice.

Roald Dahl’s ‘Danny the Champion of the

World’ appeals to readers, both young and old.

book, it is a book that adults enjoy reading too.

Regarded as one of the best of Roald Dahl’s books, it
