Christmas Greetings! Well, for the Christian, it’s always Christmas even though we are making our plans for the full celebration on December 24/25. We already know that Christ has been born anew in our hearts, and for that we give thanks.
I hope you will join me and my family for one of our four Christmas eve services, this year. I am inviting other people in our community, and I hope you will invite others, too. Especially those who don’t have a church home or who may not know God’s love. Let’s show them God’s favor! We will also have communion at all worship times, and I will have Christmas stories for the congregation this year: One spoken and one written! Don’t miss it!
Let’s also bring the best of our gifts to give to Christ!
This year, Christmas Eve Services are: 5:00 pm Family Worship 7:00 pm Candlelight, Carols and Message
Christmas Carol Hymnsing at 6:50 pm Brass Choir, Guest Musicians
9:00 pm Candlelight, Carols and Message Christmas Carol Hymnsing at 8:50 pm
Brass Choir, Guest Musicians 11:00 pm Candlelight, Carols and Readings
Holy Communion will be served at all services.

Advent Devotionals Advent devotionals are now available. You will find them at the display table in the main hall.
Christmas Poinsettias It is time to order Christmas Poinsettias. The cost for each poinsettia is $10 and may be purchased in memory or in honor of a loved one. Money from the flowers will go toward music for the Christmas Eve services. At the 7:00 and 9:00 pm services, a Brass Choir will be our guest musicians. Order forms are available in the Sunday bulletin or you may call the church office. Orders are due by Sunday, December 13.
Walking to Bethlehem This Advent Season, you are invited to walk along the path to Bethle-hem with Joseph, Mary and the Magi as they follow God’s leading. In his book, “A Labyrinth Year – Walking the Seasons of the Church”, Richard Kautz encourages us to consider the perspective from those who followed God’s call with prayerful meditations as we walk Cal-vary’s Renewal Labyrinth. Join us on Sunday nights from 7:00 until 8:30 pm beginning November 29 in Choir Room. Call Shirley Toth at 892-3745 with questions. November 29 – The Call December 20 – Encountering God December 6 – The Road January 6 – Go Forth! (Please note, December 13 – Obstacles this is a change of date.)

The Calling Committee is busy verifying the names, addresses and sizes of our assigned children. When verification is complete, An-gels will start appearing on the tree. As you pick an Angel from the tree, place your name and telephone number on the Tracking Sheet beside the child’s code. This code is used to match the gifts to the child. Please return the wrapped gift by Thursday, December 10. Thank you all for showing your Chris-tian love to these children whose parents are spending Christmas in prison. If you would like more information or to help deliver their gifts, contact Debra Sims – (317) 294-4330.

Got MILK? Yes, we do! Thanks to everyone who donated boxes of dry milk during the month of October for the Kissy clinic in Sierra Leone! Through your generosity, we were able to send 40 boxes toward the collection pro-ject of the United Methodist Women in Indiana. The boxes were picked up by Vickie Newkirk who traveled to Sierra Leone in February 2008 to deliver the 2007th box of milk. She was very appreciative of our assis-tance in keeping this project going!
Calvary collected a total of 152 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Thirteen of the 152 came from the SPARC group! THANK YOU, ALL!

This is a message of appreciation to the congregation of Calvary for the great response to the food collection of Sep-tember for Fletcher Place. You are a generous and compas-sionate congregation and Fletcher Place has expressed their appreciation and thankfulness for your help. A special thank you to the staff, the Hoffman’s, and the Waymire’s for their support and help Women’s Ministry of Calvary
Please convey my thanks to those who provided the casserole you brought. Aside from the gift of convenience, it made us feel included and loved! Kendra Smith
Thank you! I just wanted to say thanks to all the ministry teams who participated in the 2009 Annual Ministry Fair “Sign up, Sign up for Jesus” held October 31 and November 1. It was so awesome to see how many ways there are here at Calvary for God’s disciples to live out their faith. A special thanks to all who com-pleted and returned forms pledging to get involved in Ministry. It is not too late to volunteer! In His service, Jennifer Evans

I am so sorry I have been so long in thanking you for the great chicken/noodle casserole. It has been some months since Pastor Michelle delivered to me. I told her at the time that my appetite was in very bad shape so we put it into my freezer. Finally at the end of September, the chemo treatments were stopped until February. Right now, I’m feeling so much bet-ter complete with improved appetite. Yesterday, I baked the casserole—yummy! Not only was it delicious, it was so gen-erous I have at least 4 or 5 more servings. How very, very nice of you dear ladies to take the time and make the effort to pick up the flagging spirits of an ailing member of the church. I shall not forget your kindness. Thanks again. Meredyth (Merrry) Hollingsworth
We wanted to thank Michelle for stopping by with a yummy casserole and to see our new little family member...Brynn! Fixing dinner is definitely one of the many things that I need to figure out with the 3 kids and hubby. So the casse-role came at the perfect time! Thanks again to our Calvary Family for all of the love and support! We are truly blessed! The Jones Family Stephanie, Tom, Blake, Nathan, & Brynn
I just found the small piece of paper that told about the blessing your VBS was to the pantry. Wow!! Two vans loaded with food. I can just imagine the excitement of the kids as they brought in their can goods for the Pantry. There was joy here as needy families received groceries from the Pan-try. The Lord provides and sustains us in time of need. Thanks, Kids. David Lee Keith, Administrator Cornerstone Christian Church
