Keynote Speakers Announced Annual conference welcomes Aubrey de Grey
Dr. de Grey, substituting for Ben Goertzel, will
present "Why it is a sin NOT to strive to devel-
op medicine that eliminates aging" at the Asso-
ciation annual conference on 5 April 2013. He
is a biomedical gerontologist based in Cam-
bridge, UK and Mountain View, California,
USA, and is the Chief Science Officer of SENS
Foundation, a California-based 501(c)(3) chari-
ty dedicated to combating the aging process.
Other keynote speakers include:
Richard Bushman, author of Rough Stone
Rolling, presenting: “From Humanity to
Fulness the Mormon way”
Carl Teichrib, editor of Forcing Change,
presenting: “A Christian Critique of Chris-
tian Transhumanism”
Dr. Peter Wicks, presenting “An Atheist
Transhumanist Critique of Religious
Transhumanism”

Saving the world one protein at a time: Rosetta@Home
Association goes Meetup
Speakers will address the themes of Mormonism, Transhumanism and Transfigurism, with par-
ticular attention to topics at the intersection of technology, spirituality, science and religion.
Papers should be approximately two to
six pages in length. Authors of accepted
papers will be given approximately 10
minutes to present the ideas in their pa-
pers at the conference. A selection of the
best of those papers will subsequently
be published in the conference proceed-
ings, which will be made available
online and potentially in print form.
Therefore, papers should be written with
admin@transfigurism.org, by email
attachment. Include author's full name,
contact information, and title.
Some funding is available to reimburse
portions of travel for presenters. Please
indicate interest in being considered for
travel support in the submission email.
First deadline for papers falls in Janu-
ary. Anticipate another excellent confer-
ence!

intersection of technology
and religion, their impacts
on each other, and on socie-
ty in general. These papers
need not focus only on spe-
cifically Mormon religious
issues.

A quarterly review of the Mormon Transhumanist Association

On 17 December, 2012, Association President Lincoln Cannon interviewed with Nikola Danaylov, the host of
Singularity 1 on 1. Nikola regularly interviews transhumanists about the “trends, news, issues and people related
to the technological singularity.”
In the worthwhile hour long interview, posted on www.singularityweblog.com, Lincoln explained the founding of
the Association and described his views about the intersection of many religious and transhumanist ideas.
