Samaritan shoeboxes are available in church vestibules but

be expensive to provide joy and hope to hurting children

away. Thank you.
St. Ann to Host Program by
The Dept. of Mental Health
Two speakers from the Department of Mental Health will
present a program on a topic that many people have been
touched by and is on the rise here in Berkshire County -
SUICIDE.
Please plan on attending this informative program on
Monday, Nov, 16th at 6:30 p.m., in our Family Center.
This program is free and open to the public.
No More Bats in our Belfry!
Our goal at St. Ann’s is to be a warm, welcoming parish
to all families. However, this invitation does not extend to
the Chiroptera family of mammals, which includes bats.
More often than we would like, individual
bats have spent summer days sleeping in
the church. After much research we have
selected and installed a “bat house” on a
post behind the rectory. We hope this will
prove even more attractive to our would-
be visitors when they return next spring
and summer!

Short Excerpts
Taken from Pope Francis’ Addresses And Homilies
CHRIST IS OUR ROPED GUIDE
The ascension of Jesus into heaven acquaints us with this deeply
consoling reality on our journey: in Christ, true God and true
man, our humanity was taken to God. Christ opened the path to
us. He is like a roped guide climbing a mountain who, on
reaching the summit, pulls us up to him and leads us to God. If
we entrust our lives to him, if we let ourselves be guided by him,
we are certain to be in safe hands, in the hands of our Savior, of
our Advocate.
This excerpt was taken from the book, “Pope Francis Speaks to
Our Hearts, Words of Challenge and Hope” by the Word
Among Us.
St. Patrick, St. Ann and St. Vincent de Paul parishes
have a Victim Assistant Advocate. Her name is Diane
Lesure and she comes to us after many years working
in the North Adams Catholic Community. She has
worked with this program for years and is thrilled to
have the opportunity to now work with our three par-
ishes. Diane will talk with anyone who wants to know
more about this program or who has specific needs re-
garding abuse. Your time with Diane is confidential.
She can be reached at 413-664-4892.
Do You Have Annulment Questions? There is an
awful lot of misinformation in the world regarding
the annulment process. I am most happy to speak to
anyone regarding the annulment process. If you
have a question, no matter how simple or complex,
please call me and if I don’t have the answer, I will
find it out for you. I am only a phone call away,
637-0157. -Fr. C.J.
St. Ann’s is a Welcoming Parish!
If you are interested in helping St. Ann’s Family Life
and Community Outreach Commission welcome parish-
ioners and guests, by extending a hand and greeting people
as they enter for Mass, please leave your name and phone
number, as well as the Mass you prefer, with the office or
by calling Joe Healy at 413-442-9121.
Also, all parishes of our diocese are currently in the
process of forming evangelization committees designed
to reach out to inactive Catholics. The goal is to form a
committee of 5 or 6 people. If you would be willing to
give your time to serve on an evangelization committee
for St. Ann parish, would you please contact Fr. C.J. at
637-0157.
St. Vincent de Paul Capital Campaign ~ Our friends in
the Dale have begun a 3-year Capital Campaign to raise
$98,000 for the restoration of the exterior of St. Vincent de
Paul Church. All registered parishioners of St. Vincent de
Paul Church were sent a fund raising letter. If you would
like to make a donation for the restoration work being done
in the Dale, please pick up a “friends of the Dale” Capital
Campaign letter and donation form at the main doors of St.
Ann Church. Thank you in advance for helping our friends
in Lenox Dale. - Fr. C.J.

We Remember Them
At the rising of the sun and at its going down
We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter
We remember them.
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring
We remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer
We remember them.
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn
We remember them
At the beginning of the year and when it ends
We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us as
We remember them.
When we are weary and in need of strength
We remember them.
When we are lost and sick at heart
We remember them.
When we have joy we crave to share
We remember them.
When we have decisions that are difficult to make
We remember them.
When we have achievements that are based on theirs
We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live for they are now a part of us as
We remember them.
