From Sherry’s Desk . . . My very young and healthy Dad went home to be with Jesus suddenly just two months ago. I can imagine that He is now surrounded by heroes of the faith and they are singing praises in the very presence of their Savior, Dad’s beautiful bass voice anchoring the choir. From the night we got the call that he was gone, grief - like I have never felt before - entered my world. Those first few days were a blur. He had been in good health after all, still preaching weekly and travelling hundreds of miles when he could to visit kids and grandkids and enjoy time away with Mom. The shock of his death took some time to wear off. But when it did and I could no longer deny it, I felt every bit of the hurt that Death meant to bring. Even with my incredibly strong Mom, three wonderful sisters, a loving family and an unshakeable faith, I found myself crying more, sleeping less, and shaking a fist at the enemy. I hate that people we love more than anything in this world will someday die. I hate that mothers lose little ones to death and that children lose parents. I hate that mil-lions of preborn babies die every year without a say and that hope dies for thousands of others who are unable to bear a child. I hate that this very day millions all over the world are facing death alone; bodies consumed with a virus but no family or loved ones by their side to help them fight. One thing my Dad taught our family, and he lived it out more clearly than anyone I know, was that we must always look up, for our redemption is drawing near (Luke 21:28). This verse is etched in his headstone as a reminder to all of us that this world is not our final resting place. We live with pain and heartache and death here, but the home that we were made for is an eternal one. One where death does not have the final say. Paul reminds us in I Corinthians 15 that “Death is swallowed up in victory... the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” He then encourages the believer in verse 58: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” Friends, we are going to be affected by pain and death, but death doesn’t have the final say. Jesus Christ does. Because of the hope that He provides, the new life that He gives, we can look up with confidence. We can tap into His strength and victory over death to remain steadfast, immovable, and abound in the work of the Lord. This is exactly what we will continue to do at the New Life Clinic. Though it seems Goliath stands before us and death is imminent, I know that we have the victory. Christ decided that once and for all and we will cling to that hope. Though the details of our operations have changed and a new normal is emerging, we
will remain steadfast. We will continue to serve our community with the truth and spread the message of LIFE. I hope you will join me in looking up, keeping our eyes on Jesus because our redemption is drawing near. I had an excellent role model for that
and I have no doubt Dad is rejoicing today because his victory has already come.
Serving Him for Life,
♥ Sherry

Client Services - What We’ve Been Up To:
Since our nation began to address the Covid19 pandemic in early March, here is a timeline of NLC’s client services as
we’ve adjusted to this new normal. We will soon resume regular office and client hours, accepting walk-ins as well as
appointments.
During these unprecedented times, we have continued to serve with care and compassion, grateful to a loving Father
who knows our needs even before we do. With the hard work and dedication of staff and volunteers, the transition
has actually been an easy one. Many clients have been able to continue parenting classes from home through our
Bright Course curriculum and earn some much needed larger items. We have welcomed a few new babies and we are
excited to meet more in the coming weeks. We’ve even spent our downtime deep-cleaning all the carpets and getting
the place ready for the exciting day we reopen without restriction! Thank you for continuing to lift us up in prayer!
Our next Embrace Grace support group begins Monday, June 1st, 6:30pm, at Faith Family Church in Wilmington. Contact us today to reserve a spot for yourself or a single expecting-mom!

Courtney Hoak has been working hard to com-plete her Life Affirming Specialist Certification through Heartbeat Intl. This designation pro-vides professional credibility & shows mastery of the latest research surrounding life affirming information. We also want to recognize Dee Moore and Stephanie Maher for their extensive training in
recent weeks on human trafficking. These ladies have diligently taken courses from Operation Underground Railroad, the Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force, & the National Children’s Advocacy Center. We are so proud of all our client advocates and their continual efforts to better serve our clients. Congratulations Ladies!
Resignation of Julie Combs
I honestly cannot think of a woman more passionate, more devoted, more a champi-on for the cause of New Life Clinic and life itself than Julie Combs. She has always been Nana-Julie to my girls, a friend and a sister to me, and I can imagine so much more to the hundreds who are reading this. Julie began her service for the women’s pregnancy center back in 1996 as a volunteer peer counselor, and she has been rolling up her sleeves for this ministry ever since. From counseling clients to leading the annual Walk for Life fundraiser, to praying over staff and volunteers, to decorating the interior of our 100 S. South Street location, Julie Combs has certainly been a mighty force for NLC. Her handiwork is visible just about everywhere you look. In 2001 she joined the Board of Directors, obtaining an officer position in 2005, and she served as Board President from 2013 through 2017. Since 2017, Julie has remained an active member of the Board and a positive mouthpiece throughout our community. Julie, you will be missed but never forgotten. You inspire each of us to keep pressing
on for a cause that believers simply must be about! As you’ve always said: If not for LIFE, no other services would exist! Thank you for teaching us that and for always giving your heart and soul to this ministry.
I miss you already! ♥Sherry

Many in our community have been following Dr. Jeff Manser’s recent bout with Covid19. His wife, Dr. Tina Gabbard, our very own beloved Medical Director for New Life, shares that Jeff is home and regaining his strength. We are thrilled to report that a full recovery is expected and we praise God for his healing and deliverance. Please continue to join us in prayer for this amazing, well-loved family.
