Our Haiti CommiDee once again traveled to our sister parish in Milot, in the North of Haiti. This time I along with Jim
Gallagher, Kevin Doerge, Laurel Hoover had the opportunity to reconnect with many of the parishioners with whom
we have made a relationship over the past four years. Fr. Alaine, the pastor of the parish, showed us the fruit of many
of our projects over the years including the major project of patching the roof of the Church. We visited all of the
missions of the parish, of which there are three, in the surrounding countryside and in the mountains. We also visited
the school which now has a new addition thanks in part to your generosity! The highlight of our trip was the second
celebration of Marriage that we have sponsored. Due to the high cost of dresses, rings and feeding a large group for a
wedding, many people choose not to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage. Sts. Peter and Paul provides the dresses,
rings and the feast once a year and this year we had 19 couples get married! Thank you all for your generosity, and in
this next year we would like to increase the number of
people who make the trip to Haiti. Please consider if the
Lord might be calling
you to help us continue
and deepen our
relationship with our
sister parish!

Why are the crucifix and statues covered?
The 5th Sunday of Lent marks the beginning of
Passiontide. Traditionally, crucifixes and statues in the
church are veiled during Passiontide, as we prepare for
the commemoration of our Lord’s death on the cross.
If you suffer from Celiac disease or another severe gluten
allergy, a chalice of the Precious Blood is going to be
prepared. Indicate that to the priest celebrant at
Communion time, and he will administer the Sacrament
to you.
