Case StudyResort in Caribbean

Night ~ 700KWpx 12h/day = 12.0 MWh/day

x 12h/Night = 8.4 MWh/Night

20.4 MWh/day or 20,400,000 Wh/day

+

Using the map for average solar hour radiation, USVI gives us average of 5.6 hours of full sun per day...

2 MW array x 5.6 h ~= 11.2 MW/h of power production

Calculations (estimated)

Day ~ 1MWhpConsumption:

Based on a 2MW number, then 2MW/300W panels ~= 6720 Panels

Electric Car

´ 133Km with 24KWh battery

´ A 66.5Km daily trip to work and back would need 12KWh+ of battery power

´ 8,000,000 cars in ONT, ½ are daily commuters to work = 4M cars

´ Lets further say 1/2 are carpooled = 2M cars traveling daily bases to work and back.

´ Every day 12kWh x 2,000,000 = 24,000,000kWh/day or 24GWh/day has to be produced to just cover car charging.
